Convenience, cleanliness, comfort and safety - everything you want in a hotel, can be found here at the Pacific Hotel. Nice rooms, excellent and friendly staff, great location downtown, and easy to connect to whatever you want to do, Plus the breakfast is awesome!

The location was perfect, and easy walk to restuarants, shops, the harbour, the casino, etc., and at the end of the day it was a delight to return to my room and enjoy the views towards Trinity Harbour.
The rooms have been updated since my last stay and are now fresh and clean. Be careful of the step up into the bathroom and how low the toilet is...maybe that was just in my room?
I didn't have dinner here, but they make wonderful cocktails at the bar!
I headed down to breakfast at 6:30 hoping to be there before the rush, but I was too late. The people on holidays were up early before their tours.
The hotel staff were having trouble keeping up with the food needed and the layout didn't work well with so many people getting their food. I saw so many people looking for the coffee and tea area, which also didn't cater for so many people.

I’ll leave a review of pros and cons and you can decide for yourself based on budget and location.
Pros- Some of the staff was amazing. Specifically thanks to Steven, James, and the nice lady who checked me in. Location in Cairns was good. Near a good cafe for quick food before or after long days of touring plus a grocery store and a few other restaurants.
Cons- Elevators took so long I almost missed a tour one day. Budget 5-10 min a morning for them.
WiFi was so slow I ended up paying for data through my cell carrier. There are no mini bar items for free or purchase but there are vending machines and also do it yourself laundry (you’ll need coins or cash).
My biggest complaint was no temp control. It was on or off basically with no ability to set a temperature. There was low medium how but I couldn’t stand it colder than low. Then I was freezing. Off and I was sweating.
On weekends it was noisy, ask for a room in the rear of you’re a light sleeper and I bought earplugs which helped. The doors were not sound proofed nor windows it seemed. There were rooms of college aged kids with doors open blaring music, but luckily after I phoned the front desk they talked to them so they shut their doors. Also, confused why the staff called my room at 9:36pm to ask if my room was quieter the next night. I appreciate them checking, but that late? Luckily I had unplugged the phone. Then the desk staff asked if I made a call upon check out because I was being charged for it. No, I unplugged my phone what the heck? Luckily they took the charge off.
To the hotel owners- the blankets were itchy and not comfy. Can you afford a soft one or comforter? Really confused why I was given a stained itchy blanket like I’d find in the back of my grandma’s cabinet.

This hotel is right across the street from the casino and a block away from the dock. If you want to do an excursion to Green Island, you can walk to the pier and book one. The hotel itself was recently remodeled and was very nice. We had a lovely view of the pier. The restaurant downstairs was delicious. The best way I can describe it is it being like "Texas de Brazil" but the Australian version.

I stayed at the deluxe room which was ocean facing. The room was huge and i loved it. It is fully white, but still was very clean. The hotel is at the corner of the esplanade street and so everything like restaurants, shops, ice cream parlours are in the vicinity. We had to go for the reef tour and the jetty was just like 300-400 metres from the hotel. Cairns DInner Theatre in the REEF hotel was also just a stone throw's away. So i loved and loved the hotel. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the very expensive food they served in their restaurant. The breakfast was expensive and not at all worth the money they charged. But overall our stay was perfect.
