Our wedding

We married at Six Mile Bottom on the 17/06/17 and held our weekend of celebrations at Swynford Manor. We cannot recommend this place highly enough, from the moment we pulled into Swynford we knew this was the place for us. Swynford helped make our dreams come true with exclusivity for the whole weekend from Friday with a pre-wedding BBQ through to our amazing wedding day and the relaxed Sunday morning breakfast following our weekend of celebrations. Angela, Georgia and the whole team worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly and went perfectly for us. Our family and friends were made to feel extremely welcome and relaxed. The food and hospitality was 5* and nothing was ever too much trouble. They even got an outdoor pizza oven in for our evening food - everyone is still talking about the pizzas now!
The only thing we can fault is it all went far too quickly! We made such wonderful memories we will cherish forever! Thank you to everyone at Swynford, we hope to see you in a few years for an anniversary party! Love from Mr and Mrs Brown xx
Poor customer service

I attempted to book a celebratory lunch for 26 people with six weeks notice. Staff seemed less than interested because, as they said, "we usually do weddings - this is a weddings venue". Nonetheless they originally indicated that they would accept our booking, but then said there were 'difficulties with the timing of what you want as we have a wedding party in on the day previous'. Final straw was when a member of staff said that the date we wanted was in the middle of their 'busy period' and that we 'really should have thought about booking earlier'. Staff promised that a manager would ring us the following day, but no-one has made any contact. We have now found a better venue, at a better price, where the customer service could not be faulted. Clearly Swynford Manor can afford to turn away business - I certainly will not be using them again.
Dan and Emily's Wedding

Great wedding venue but unfortunately accommodation left something to be desired
Firstly the food, drinks and hospitality for our friends Dan and Emily's Wedding Day celebrations were first class
Unfortunately whilst the accommodation was clean and smart the air conditioning wasn't
On a very warm day the bedroom was like an oven to the extend that whilst getting dressed we left all by the essentials to the last minute as not to create a sweaty mess .
All the windows were sealed shut
We complained to reception and late that night an air conditioning engineer arrived but alas the situation remained the same.
On departure we were told that the air conditioning wasn't man enough to keep the communal areas cool and the bedrooms and as such it was beyond the hotels fault!
Sorry but I fail to see this
If your considering booking a event At Swynford please do so but make sure it's a cold day if you intend to stay over
great building and surroundings terrible food

first of all I would like to say swynford manor is a amazing venue and beautiful surroundings. But I must comment on the dreadful food we was served at a wedding recently as a chef of over 20 years I feel I can criticise. First issue was the main course I was served it was meant to be slow cooked cap of beef and what I got was 2 slices of cold topside of beef with dauphinoise potatoes which was undercooked and crunchy and everything felt cold also the veg where overcooked and nearly brown we had cabbage carrots and green beans, does swynford manor have any hot plates to keep food warm? or even these new ovens with regen programmes to reheat food . Secondly the kids choices where terrible pizza was soggy bread the burger was just bigger than a 2 pound coin. And our vegetarian daughter received tuna pasta bake and after we asked for what she originally ordered we ended up with a plate of not even al dente spaghetti it was crunchy and didn't even have any sauce or cheese. also after going to get a drink from the bar I found the jar had a fly in it which summed up our meal. Other minor issues where the dry starter with its piccalilli swipe which felt like it had been done the day before. The canapes where ok pork belly slices and mini fish and chips where nice. But all in all a very unsatisfying day considering it cost nearly 200 pounds per person.
Fantastic Wedding - April 30th 2016

My wife and I had an amazing wedding day at Paddocks last month and just wanted to pass on our sincere thanks to Sharon, Jamie and the entire team for looking after everyone so well.
We could always count on excellent and very personable communication in the build up to the day and the menu tasting we attended a few months beforehand was great snapshot of what was to come and only served to heighten our excitement.
On the day everything was catered for perfectly and the house and grounds looked lovely. We had requested a few extra touches such as Gin & Tonic ice lollies that the team were more than happy to make for us and they went down a treat.
Sharon, Jamie and the team made sure the day ran like clockwork and allowed us to just relax and have fun. The food and wine were fantastic as was the service, I lost count of the number of family and friends who complimented us on the venue and sang the praises of all staff involved.
The rooms are all extremely well looked after with great features, I didn't get a chance to enjoy the famous copper bath but those who did said they were exactly as luxurious as they looked. I only wish we had more time to enjoy the master suite, it's a fantastic size and the hidden cinema room is really special!
We couldn't recommend this venue enough for a wedding and I'm sure it excels in all other services provided. We look forward to returning as guests very soon.
