This hidden little gem of affordable, minimalistic charm is quite the refuge from the proverbial rat race most of us encounter. Everything one typically needs other than food awaits you here, most especially, peace and quiet. Additionally, you can count on seeing plenty of friendly deer, ducks, herons, and fish, swimming - or caught. The lake is great for swimming in/kayaking on, especially being as full as it is. The owner/manager is most helpful with her knowledge of the area. And just in case you didn't realize how appealing eating s'mores by an evening fire under a brilliant night sky might be, The Painted Sky Inn has you covered, as they stock all of the makings for s'mores, including the skewers, in each room. And they even do the work of lighting the campfire!

Stayed two days . The place was like a totally restored antique car. Every thing was like new. Great place to get away and get rested. The beds were great.
The owner was very accommodating. We didn’t have a reservation but was lucky enough to get a room. There was a group of old childhood friends staying here. Good place for reunions.

We had a family gathering here and absolutely loved the place. The owner could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Truly the kind of customer service that would satisfy anyone. We rented several of the smaller units and the two larger homes. everyone had a great time and we all plan on doing it again in the future.

We drove to Burnet from Houston for the "Romantic Getaway" package and were so, so happy with our peaceful, two-night stay. Denise was so helpful and patient in making our reservation and answering questions about kayaking and fishing around the Inn. We kayaked early both mornings in order to fish, leaving around 6:30 am, and Denise set us up the night before. The rooms are well-appointed and we found the bed surprisingly comfortable. There were plenty of dishes and cooking pans to cook and grill our dinners and breakfasts. The AC and fan worked very well to keep it cool. I would highly recommend this Inn if you're looking for a peaceful getaway. We didn't use the box of s'mores ingredients in our fridge but maybe when we return in the winter the time will be right. Go ahead and book - you won't regret it!

We visited Painted Sky in for a family reunion in the Burnet area. We found the place to be beautifully landscaped, and clean clean clean. The host was gracious and available to help any day of the week. They offered night time fire pit conversation if so desired, and have a nice fishing dock. We stayed in the 2 bedroom home and found it to be exactly what we needed, everything worked well, was up-to-date, there were new mattresses and they were extremely comfortable. We would be happy to go back if in the area again. Private boat ramp was great, and swimming friendly area in a sheltered cove was nice for a cool dip.
