Understaffed, uninterested, tired

The room was sufficient, typical hard bed but a large dressing area.
Though it was November, the only heater that worked was in the bathroom.

The public spaces were past their prime. Dark hallways at night. You have to turn the light on, which was at the other end of the hall from my room.

Interestingly, my room #30 was on the second floor (which is the third floor in France). All the other rooms were 20 - 29. The front desk clerk said nothing to me, so I spent a few anxious minutes in dark hallways looking for my room, towing my luggage.

The breakfast was adequate, and the dinners were very good.

Booked a room for two nights after finding this hotel on internet. Was very disappointed. This hotel does not deserve three stars. Its geographic position is good - a short walk to town centre. But the hotel is run down and in need of a facelift! But, saying that, the room was large and very clean. Shame about the rest.

Good value hotel in a good location

Stayed in room number 3 for two nights and really no complaints for the price. Breakfast was fine, room clean and well equipped and located within easy walking of town sites. The wifi was the best we have had in France. Car park is free and secure just outside back door.

Unpleasant welcome in a dirty hotel

I stayed in Palais des Fleurs for 3 nights for business trip. Despite a confirmation mail mentioning my reservation was accepted and modified (I asked to add one night to the 2 booked), at checkin they had on their software only one night booked for me. I have been given the so called "unique free room", which was lower level than the one I had booked.
The room was super dirty,with old and crap furniture. Bed was not bad tough.
When I reported to the desk, they told me it was either like that or nothing, so I had to stay.
The hotel is in an old building, badly maintained; room was extremely noisy, dark and looking on a small garden, almost open to the road.
At checkout I received another bad surprise: bill for 3 breakfast I had never taken (which was cancelled) and room priced as for superior one. When complaining, I was told that this is the market in France, that if I go to Paris I will be billed twice for the same crap. I could not believe the attitude of the owner, but I paid and promised to myself I'll never come back.

Not worth a 3 stars at all/ ce n'est pas un 3 étoiles

Big disappointment, very small and not well maintained bedroom. Restaurant very poor (restaurant digne d'une cantine d'école!). Small and quite clean covered swimming pool.
Quite environment and close to the center.
There are definitely better hotels 3 stars in Aix-les-bains.
