we were arrived to this hotel in early morning after a long journey by night train from hanoi, we have to wait about six hour before can checked into the room and everything we could describe about this hotel as.
1.The Location - it is little far away from the central of the town where is so many famous restaurant and shops.
2. The Hotel's staff - they just only could speak very little of english & they seemed not so friendly at all, we were found it very difficult to given them some requests.
3. Hotel Facilities - the hotel is looking to old, they did not do any renovated for a long time that i guess and most of the equipments are seemed out of date. the hotel is very dirty and very noisy especially during the night time when the karaoke place behind the hotel is open.
4. the Food - following our tour package that we will have a few meals at the hotel but we could not eat even one meal here because it seen not clean & no tasty at all.
5. Room - it is come with heavy stink smell when we just open the door and it is very cold during the night time because of them do not set up any heater.
Overall you can easily to find elsewhere a much better hotel to stay!!!

please dont stay here. hotel was dirty, food is terrible. we had 5 vouchers for meals at the hotel but after the first one we did not eat there any more. Also had to wait 5 hours for them to get room ready after a long train and bus ride. sapa itself is very beautiful but this hotel let us down

We stayed a few nights recently in this hotel which is now called the Papillion Hotel. Perhaps the name change is not helpful for the local butterflies as we found live butterflies flapping on potted plants, they had been pinned there.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, though service was average, the rooms were not cleaned daily and we had to ask for dry towels. The towels are either not washed properly or it takes too long for them to dry, as they do not smell good when you use them.
The doona cover on the bed was not clean when we arrived, and asked for it to be changed. They attended to our requests in good time and we thank them for that.
Wifi is not available in the rooms, the reception is very poor and we were told that the lobby near reception would be better.
The lady at reception was very helpful and booked us transport and allowed us to have a shower after trekking thru the rice paddies. We had already checked out of our room on that day and would have otherwise had to board the night train back to Hanoi covered in mud.
The room we had was clean apart from the doona and a good size with a balcony onto the main street.

goldensea hote has changed it's name in to papillon hotel. hotel 's onwer was change also. i stayed 3 days there, everithing is very good , good buffee breafast, room is nice view over valley. warm room and well trained staffs.i satisfied with 35usd/night i paid for

Nice view, friendly stafffs, however the room is not so big. If compare with hotel in Hanoi, it has much different : food, room, clean...
