What People are saying

Not bad at all!

Antonio S on 25/09/2017 16:02

Hotel located in a perfect position if you want to visit the beautiful and charming Ascoli Piceno. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room is clean and nice. The quality of the breakfast is average, they can improve it in my opinion. They ask 10 Euro for the parking lot in front of the hotel, which is not convenient at all.
That aside, I had such a pleasant time in this hotel.

ideal hotel right behind the main square.....

hi, we stayed here for the weekend, breakfast was not so bad but could have been way better quality, but what i found worst was the bedroom; the fridge bar was broken, which considering the heatwave was a disgrace, extremely noisy air con, so we didnt get much sleep.. There were no hangers in the wardrobe. The toilet was very noisy when you flushed and the fan was as noisy as the aircon, and when we showered we had to watch out the the broken shower plate. the only thing that saved the holiday was some of the personnel, the breakfast girl the luggage man and over all that marvelous girl Grazia. she made our weekend worth while, providing us with all the information that we needed to get us around. she was NUMERO UNO, she was so sweet and very patient considering our limited italian, lucky she spoke english, Its a pleasure to see, how much passion she has for her job. We will return and hope most of all to see Grazia again, and i hope the management, will, look into all the problems that they have in the hotel and put amends to them....

My favourite

My favourite hotel on our recent trip. Hard to find a park but after a couple of circuits of the one way system we find a spot right outside.
Check in was easy and a lovely porter took us up to our room via the lift, trundling both our bags with experience to our 'Superior' room.
It's great, tall ceilings, a charming painted wardrobe, an enormous bed and a large modern bathroom.
After a siesta I felt like a leisurely bath unfortunately I couldn't find a plug.
Quick call to room service and long story short we were upgraded to a 'Junior Suite' it has a plug.....
Thought our original room was pretty fabulous but the upgrade was very much appreciated. Princess and the pea canopied bed, heavy curtains, a sitting area and a desk, loads of room to swing the proverbial cat and a spa bath.
Sadly only a one night stay.
This hotel was once a palace and we enjoyed exploring it. At night it's lit to show off it's best architectural features. Colonades, balconies and courtyards are beautiful. A labyrinth of corridors, on every floor a cool sitting room with faded trompe l'oeil walls and glazed bookcases. I swap a jazz biography for a detective novel and relish the local reference books. I love the coat of arms murals.
Breakfast is on the ground floor in a pillared courtyard and has everything you could possibly want. Pastries, meats, fruit, juice, cereals and excellent coffee.
The staff are charming and at check out I enquire about purchasing a couple of our prettily glazed coffee cups as souvenirs. The lovely receptionist volunteers to grab us some and will not let us buy them, they are gifts, how amazing is that?
This hotel is absolutely lovely, the staff are gracious and Ascoli Piceno is a gem

Good hotel in lovely Ascoli Piceno

The hotel is a 16th century palace very close to the main square in the very beautiful town of Ascoli Piceno. Although Ascoli Piceno is difficult to get to by public transport, it is well worth the effort and the hotel is an easy walk from the station. The room was in the main building and was very large by most hotel standards, as was the bathroom. The breakfasts were the normal fare but plentiful. The only problem that you might have, if your room is at the back of the hotel, is the nearby dance school. Every afternoon at 4.30 the music started loudly, so you need to get your siesta in early!

Parking on site

We have stayed here twice taking the Junior Suites both times. The Junior Suites are huge by any standards - you would consider them huge in the US, but especially in Italy they are ginormous.

One advantage is that (at least the main building) has parking right at the building. Now if you're not used to driving in Italian towns, this is a little tricky in and out. Google maps will get you there, but be careful not to miss the turns.

When the battery on my rental died, the staff stayed on hold with Hertz for almost an hour and then arranged to get the service guy in to take care of it. They definitely went above and beyond what I would have expected.

The main building is a historical gem and is quick walking distance to the piazzas you want to hang out in. This is a great base for what is our favorite town in Italy (and we spend a lot of time in Italy).
