Stayed here on our tour of Italy. Incredibly close to St Marks Square. Comfortable but small rooms. Large shower. Decent storage space. Excellent breakfast buffet a short walk away at its sister hotel.
A great little hotel in a great location

As people previously mentioned, this hotel is an annex to the Hotel Monaco. The location cannot be beat. Right next to St. Mark's Piazza, the Palazzo is in the heart of Venice, close to all the main tourist sites.
The hotel itself is well-kept. I had a small room with a single bed, and the decor was simple, yet extremely functional. The hotel has made the best possible use out of the small space.
The hotel staff were always extremely friendly, and they even helped me out when there was a transportation strike, giving me warning and details about it.
The only downside was that my room was on the back side of the hotel, adjacent to the Hard Rock Cafe, which played loud music until late into the night. It might not normally be a problem, but it was warm in the room, so I opened the window, and that let the noise in. My suggestion is to ask for a room on the internal courtyard or on the side of the hotel.
A Hidden Gem in San Marco

This hotel has a great location, right at the entrance to St. Mark's Square. The Vaporetto will bring you from the Santa Lucia train station to just down the street - it is a bit slow (~45-60 mins), but it is far preferable to hauling your luggage up and over bridges and down labyrinthine Venetian alleys. Check-in and check-out are done at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, which was a snap. A porter from the Hotel Monaco will help you find your way over to the Palazzo Selvadego as its entrance is easy to miss.
I stayed in a single room with only a twin bed, so it was a bit small but still fine. The room itself was great, big enough to not feel cramped, and the bathroom was fantastic with good water pressure and hot water. There were good conveniences, including numerous electrical outlets to recharge your phones and cameras and decently speedy WiFi. I did not try the breakfast over at the Hotel Monaco, so I can't comment on it.
Everything in the hotel was very clean and well organized, and the desk attendant was very helpful with directions or dining suggestions. This hotel is tops for its price and location combination! I would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful stay

I’m just back from a three night stay at Palazzo Selvadego. I stayed in a single room (602) as rest of my group in different hotels. The location is brilliant - you are almost on St Mark’s Square. The room was very clean and comfortable, crisp linen sheets, good en suite with bath and shower, high ceilings. Window faced internal courtyard but that common in Venice. It wasn’t obvious when I booked but I had breakfast at the hotel Monaco, overlooking the Grand Canal and that’s where you go to check in and out. What a treat! You sit watching the Gondoliers collecting and dropping their passengers while enjoying a good breakfast. Staff all professional and friendly without any of the distain that can creep into the manners of people working in such a touristy place. Friends staying in other slightly cheaper hotels found them shabby, breakfast sparse and staff disinterested- nothing like that at Palazzo Selvadego/Hotel Monaco. Highly recommend and would love to go back.
Best location!

We stayed once again, at this hotel which is sister hotel to Hotel Monaco. Breakfast at Hotel Monaco is always lovely with the view of the Grand Canal. The suite at Selvadego was very nice with everything we needed and also very well kept. I would recommend this apartment style hotel to anyone that's looking to stay very close to St. Mark's Square and the Grand Canal.
