Palio Eleotriveio is one-of-a-kind guesthouse. Renovated yet maintained it's core identity, the water mill. The guesthouse has an impressive traditional architecture, room was great, meticulous cleaned and tidy with wifi free access (8 mbps, fast dot com measure) and delicious breakfasts. We had a great time and didn't want to leave.
Ask Christos, who runs the management, recommend you daily routes and great places to eat.
My overall impression was that Palio Eleotriveio guesthouse provides a unique experience, and their guesthouse is just the start.

Pelion is a beautiful region. Agios Lavrentios is an idyllic village. Palio Eleotrivio is a wonderful guesthouse. If you are thinking of staying in this area then both Agios Lavrentios and Palio Eleotrivio are a must. The guest house is conventiently located although tricky to find at first (turn left before you get to the main village - go towards the monastery). It is a short pretty walk down to the square where there is a taverna and a number of bars and restaurants (also a good bakers). There are many hiking trails around the area (Google hiking in Pelion and you will find a very good site - walking-Pelion.blogspot.com). It really is very good hiking territory and even in summer it is cooler higher up. The peaks are higher than Ben Nevis and well worth the climb.
Our room at the guest house was perfect with a wonderful view. The breakfast was outstanding with some great homecooking. We stayed in the summer but a spring, Autumn or winter visit would all be equally worthwhile (there is a ski centre further up the mountain). You could get here by taxi from Volos. If you are thinking of hiring a car consider getting a 4x4 if you want to get out and about - there are good unpaved trails to drive. Finally I challenge you to find a guesthouse with kinder or more helpful staff anywhere on the planet. We will certainly be back.

This is a beautiful hotel! Absolutely breath taking. It's a distance from the main city but worth the 30 euro cab ride. The staff were extremely helpful, from offering us recommendations on where to eat, to helping us with our luggage. There are plenty of restaurants in the town as well. Clean, relaxing, amazing.

The Palio Eleotrivio Guesthouse in Agio Lavrentios is now perhaps the best and most romantic place that we have ever stayed. This includes Mama's Fishhouse in Hawaii, the Ca' Sagredo Palace on the Grand Canal in Venice, and the Ventana inn and Spa at Big Sur. The Guesthouse has been lovingly converted from a winepress and offers a very comfortable location to explore the small mountain village of Agio Lavrentios. Chris, the manager, could not have been more helpful—on several occasions, when he was not otherwise busy, he volunteered to drive us to some of the other villages which provided us an insight into the non-tourist side of Greece that we could not have otherwise imagined. And just sitting at a small taverna, drinking wine, watching the coming and going of the inhabitants, and absorbing the intoxicating atmosphere was uncomparable.

Palaio elaiotriveio guesthouse made our stay in Agios Lavrentios an ultimate experience! its a traditional, cozy, comfortable hotel ready to accommodate all of our needs! there were plenty of outdoor activities for us to choose, such as scuba diving, horse riding, trekking! Christos, in reception is very helpful and the omelet of Mrs Spyridoula is just perfect! So if you re wondering where to stay, Palaio elaiotriveio will make your experience unforgettable!!
