I've stayed in every hotel in downtown Phoenix. The Palomar is the best! The hotel is in walking distance to restaurants, the convention center, and the ball park. The team that runs the hotel are very nice, the rooms are comfortable, plus they have a complementary evening wine hour, and coffee/tea in the morning. The pool/bar area is really nice and has a great vibe. This is the only place I'll stay when in Phoenix.

Everything about this hotel is beautiful! The location is great and within walking distance of all kinds of things. The staff is happy and friendly so if you are looking for a nice, relaxing place to stay, this is by far the place to be!

This hotel was great. It is located in the hear of Phoenix and it is easy to get around and find anything you need. I was not able to try the manager reception but it seemed amazing. I would recommend the hotel.

Love the look of this place. I stayed one (very short) night prior to a meeting the next day. I wandered out a bit to find water (CVS a short walk away) and saw some interesting restaurants in the area. The room colors are bright, it's clean, plenty of electrical outlets, good personal care products, free wifi. BUT no coffee or hot water in the rooms. I got up really early and had to dress to go to the 2nd floor to get coffee and tea water. Wound up going twice and getting two cups each time. The people are friendly. The coffee thing is obviously a deal-breaker for me :). When other guests who stayed around the same time complained about the noise, I guess it's because they were building an ice skating rink next to the hotel. I didn't have any issues with noise even though my room faced the construction area. I find it pretty awesome Phoenix is building a rink when the weather is still in the 80's and would love to go back to see it in action!

I like most of the Kimpton hotels I stayed. I'm not very impressed by this one in Phoenix, nor I'm not disappointed either.
I guess the location is convenient? The stadium was a couple of blocks away and light rail is very close by also. But in terms of shops and restaurants, there's very limited choices besides the mall that the hotel is actually at. But I guess that's considered central location in Phoenix. I'm from New York so this area does not feel busy to me at all.
Parking was very confusing and inconvenient. There's 90% of "reserved" spots and we have no idea if those were reserved for hotel guests or for someone else. It's also very inconvenient that the elevator is not directly connected to the lobby. You have to take an elevator to the second floor, walk to another building which is the second floor of the hotel, then you take another elevator to your room or the check-in area.
We used up the lotion in the room the first night. The housekeeper did not give me a new one, same goes with the hand soap. We called housekeeping at night and they said they will bring it up shortly. It never came.
It's not that I will be using all the toiletries. I usually just keep using the old one until I used them up. But I've never been to a hotel that cheap.
If you wanted to sleep in, forget about it. We hear construction noises before 8am on Sunday morning. Apparently there's a big construction right next to the building, you can have a "great view" of the crane when you are at the pool.
