A lovely paradise

This is lovely little resort right on the banks of Vembanad Lake. An amazing location and well maintained place . The cottages are spacious and clean. The staff were courteous and worked their best to make our stay better.
We stayed in the house boat for a day. Though the exterior looked old, it was very clean and well maintained inside. The driver and the cook were very courteous. They were building a new houseboat on the premises.
The restaurant had very good ambience but needs to improve on the food. Very less options for vegetarians. Except for the Kerala thaali, no other local food is available for veggies. Even any variety of Kerala curry wasn't available on request also. The complimentary breakfast left a lot to be desired. There were 2 Indian breakfast dishes + bread and cornflakes.
Improvements suggested - keep coffee /tea option in the cottages. Include local delicacies in breakfast and in the vegetarian menu. Include some activities /entertainment programs in the evening.
Paradise Resort...Really a paradise worth experiencing

We just had a one night stay in paradise resort and we thought when we were leaving...we should have stayed more....this place is definitely worth more than just a day. The small villa like rooms are grand in size and offer all the modern amenities. The just are so nice and warm that you really feel like just relaxing and idly lying around.
About Hotel : Nice and clean room, very bog rooms actually for 2 adults and a kid. Big bathrooms. All necessary heating / cooling arrangements possible. It has a not so grand but nice n enough eatery / hotel where we had decent lunch / dinner. Breakfast needs to have more variety but that's ok considering enough menus available.
About the staff: Staff is very friendly, caring and ready to help. Hospitality is really good.
Infinity Pool: If you been to Paradise resort and don't go into the pool, you definitely are missing something. Had it been temperature controlled for the kids section, it would have been ideal, but the feeling and the vast ocean like Backwaters that you see from the pool is just mesmerizing. You can just lay in the pool waters for hours n hours n hrs. Amazing. So this would be the best thing that is offered by the hotel.
Hotel also offers the massage center which was really very nice and we did enjoy a 2 hrs massage session. The staff is professional and was courteous enough to even extend the massage sessions to really late in the evening. Amazing.
Overall, definitely a place to recommend for all visiting Alleppey, spend a day surely in paradise resort (Kumarkom) than spending all the time in Alleppey.
Extra caution: All the rooms being wooden furnitured, there are cases of having small nature creatures like lizards / small bees etc spotted in the room premises / lobby of the rooms. So please be mindful of them.
This isn't a resort at all

I don't get it why its called resort in the first place. I stayed with the family of 3 adult and 2 kids, which I have mentioned in my booking, I didn't get big enough bed for a family of 4 (2 adult and 2 kids) The extra bed was something makeshift not at all comfortable.
The bathroom was not clean at all, and bugs were another issues. The breakfast was mediocre and they were too slow in serving.
Worse Service - not sure if it is worth paying for just location?

With no Kettles in room, it wasn't very convenient with the kids specially as there is no Restaurent service between 9 pm to 7 am. After asking, we were told that all Kettles for few rooms are rusted
After ordering in Restaurent we were told to wait for 35mins. And vegetarian food was worse and quantity was very little for such high rates, so ordered a vegetable sandwich and it was not at all eatable so returned.
Resort is charging quite a lot for Shikara/ houseboat. Check out boat jetti area for cheaper options.
Owner mindset is not inclined towards customer service. His only focus is micro managing costs.
We had booked two rooms, at check out owner came to us and said one towel is missing and he wants to charge for it! It was a crap experience.
Given two points only for location, other wise Restaurent is worse, service is terrible.
Not a very Paradisiacal Experience

The scenic beauty around the resort is admirable. The villas lined up around the green backdrop, the pool right next to the backwaters of Kumarakom definitely gives quite picturesque spots to click some memorable photographs. But we weren't quite happy with the rooms as it had a peculiar smell that lingered on even after requesting them to send in some room freshner. The service at the restaurant was awful as there was just one attendant handling all the guests. We were neglected for quite some time. In fact we had to wait for nearly 20 minutes for water to be served and that happened only after persistent calls for it. The food was average too, rather disappointing. Nothing unusually good about the place except for the location.
