We had a very enjoyable stay in this Parador in a wonderful location. Staff very helpful and food delicious. Varies places to sit and have a drink. Plenty of secure free parking. Interesting access to the paintings in the Alcaniz castle.

The Parador at Alcaniz sits on a lofty perch above the town occupying a wonderful old monastery building. Our room was reasonably spacious with a good across the countryside. The star here, though, was the restaurant. I had superb Teruel ham followed by the most succulent confit of lamb - slow-cooked shoulder of lamb with the cooking juices. Delicious. I would also recommend this hotel to any passing petrolheads - the drives around here are spectacular.

Great situation and overall view, impressiv historical building, large and confortable rooms, spacious common areas, nice bar with historical wall paintings, historical dining room where excellent ffod is served.

We stayed in three Paradors and enjoyed all of them. In this one we were lucky to have selected one of the Duplex rooms which was fantastic. It was spacious, well fitted out and had all of the amenities including robes and Nespresso/Tea facilities. The “standout” of our stay was the restaurant. Breakfast was great and the dinner menu and the quality of cooking/presentation was first class.
It’s position on the highest point of the city resulted in great views of the surrounding countryside and city. A drawback is the walk to/from the city. However, the attractions of the city are few. The Fort which is attached (not part of) the Parador is very interesting due to the mural paintings.
We highly recommend this Parador.

The hotel is in the castle on the top of the hill in the town centre. It is little bit tricky and climby to reach, but then you enjoy wonderful view, comfortable rooms, clean and equipped bathroom, rich breakfast and nice and helpful staff.
