We have been stopping regularly at Parador de Almagro since 2005, and we like it as it is a convenient stop on our way to or from Andalucia. Access and parking is easy, rooms are nice (we always ask for the same room when booking) and beds are comfortable. We always have a good sleep there.
We do not eat at the restaurant any more having had bead experience some previous time, although it must be said we always enjoy a very good breakfast in a very nice room.
The excitement of years ago when we used to arrive at Almagro has somehow faded out, and my wife said to me when we left Almagro 2 days ago, that she was a little tired of it.
However the problem is that apart from Parador de Manzanares(that we like) close by, there are no other Paradores in the area.
We use the bar which has been refurbished some time ago, but it still lack atmosphere and nay comfort to enjoy a drink, when not being able to use the terrace in the cold season.
We prefer staying at Almagro outside the tourist season, as it can be very crowded with large groups of Asiatic people.
The staff is nice without excess.
A little remark to finish: a ramp would be welcomed at the entrance to avoid lifting heavy luggage through these heavy old doors.

This former convert from the 16th century is now a luxury hotel. Large comfortable well appointed and quiet rooms. Free parking and a great restaurant on site. But all at reasonable prices.
We paid $85.00 and thought it was a bargain.
The town was once the capital of La Mancha with many historic building around the Plaza Mayor. The town grew too powerful with an influx of riches that we sent home from Peru by a local conquistador who assassinated Pizarro.So the king moved the capital to a new city Cuidad Real. Off the tourist thruway so still charming.

Good quiet night even though there was a wedding reception in the hotel the staff managed to attend to the needs of the other guests without any problem. The rooms are based around the Nun's cell although there is no Spartan feel about them. Almagro itself is a fascinating town to visit.

Family visit last night of a five night Parador tour. The Parador would rank in our top five visit( 36 in total so far) great welcome from the staff good parking great location within the town. Rooms are of a very high standard and large. Food was very good both evening meal and breakfast. Bar area good . The standard of general housekeeping in this Parador is some of the best I have seen. A must for Parador lovers and anyone. Thank you for a great experience. 6 ******

Excellent Parador within easy walking distance to all the main attractions of Almagro. The National Theatre Museum is well worth a visit.The staff and service provided was first class. The restaurant menu was extremely good.
