We enjoyed the public rooms with all the antiques & paintings, but found the staff rather miserable, unlike the rest of our hotel stays in northern Spain where everyone was so friendly. Our room in the annex was spacious, had a lovely balcony & looked out on a pretty knot garden. However it was 87 degrees when we checked in & the air conditioning was not working. When we informed the front desk, we were told the AC goes off in October. (this was the first week of the month) No fan was offered.

great old building with rooms in the old building that are outstanding and more average rooms in the new building good restaurant with fast and friendly service good bar and nice terrace outside building closes from december 2017 until 2019 lets hope they leave all the old elements in place

After walking the Camino it was fantastic to arrive at such a beautiful place. All staff were friendly and helpful. The bath was great. I loved wandering in the cloisters and sumptuous hallway. It was lovely to sit outside having a glass of wine on the terrace. Wished I had read that I could have had eggs benedict for breakfast

I just loved staying here! The building was magnificent. There is a tour everyday at 10am, you should take it even it you can't speak Spanish as it takes you into bits that you normally couldn't get into.
The staff are very nice and speak perfect english, The rooms are comfortable but needing modernised. The hotel is closing in December for 2 years for extensive refurbishment so I was glad I had stayed here.
Breakfast was extensive with everything you could wish for breakfast.
The prices of drinks in the bar was reasonable and the place was busy!
I will return when it is finished for a couple of nights just to see it and enjoy the lovely building!

We had a few issues that would have severely marred our enjoyment of an ordinary hotel but one needs to keep in mind that a Parador isn't an ordinary hotel, it's a centuries-old historic property with lots of attendant quirks and foibles. We had a junior suite in the old wing which had oodles of ambience, but also a very long and narrow bathroom, a barely-functioning and antiquated AC system, and--worse--a terrible smell that eventually dissipated when we left the windows open for several hours. (Note: we were offered another suite in the new wing but we declined as it was an utterly charmless cookie-cutter modern hotel room). It was still very much worth the visit given the great location, superb food and dinner service, and the amazing privilege of staying in one of Spain's most historic and beautiful hotel properties.
