What People are saying

Excellent

Leo Lon 02/07/2015 23:13

Although is a 10 min drive from Assisi, is a great place to stay and relax. Has the comfort of any 5 star hotel and is surrounded by a nice area. You can also do some exercising since it has a very clean swimmingpool.
Staff is very attentive.

Quaint hotel near Assisi

This hotel was about a 15 minute drive from Assisi. It was quiet, nicely decorated, pretty grounds and had an extensive breakfast buffet. We were on the third floor (second by their definition). No elevator, but I was helped graciously with my suitcase.

Nice but.......

Recently stayed at this hotel. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon and discovered because a large crowd had been served at lunch, the restaurant would be closed for dinner. The restaurant looked beautiful and we understand the food is excellent. We asked the young lady at reception is she could recommend a restaurant close by where we could have dinner. She said she would make us a reservation at a good restaurant near by. Later, we discovered it was an Agritourismo and had a set menu. Because I have food sensitivities, I thought better of this decision and went down to tell the young lady at reception that it might not work. She then informed us that it was closed so not to worry! We wondered if we hadn't gone down, would she have let us know or would we have ended up going to a place that was closed? There was no phone in our room which was on the top floor, and there was no elevator! The young lady at reception and a colleague from the restaurant carried our baggage up 4 flights of stairs. Being seniors, and having large suitcases because we'd been traveling for 2 months, our suitcases were heavy and it was difficult for us to carry the bags up the 4 flights of stairs. We felt badly that we had to impose the task on someone else. Of course what goes up, must come down and when we left, the gardener was pressed into service! Our room was clean and had a lovely view of the gardens. The WIFI was sketchy at best. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing with mostly cakes, pies and pastries. You could boil your egg and there was a granola mixture and cereal on the healthy side. I can't specifically say we had an unpleasant experience at this hotel, but we were disappointed after all the positive ratings and reviews we had read. I doubt we would stay here again, which is unfortunate because it's a lovely hotel from the outside and there are some interesting furnishings inside. Perhaps we were there at the wrong time!

A Private Paradise!

Driving through the gates we entered a private paradise. Beautiful gardens and pool. The spacious rooms were exquisite with wood beam ceilings. The ambiance of this quiet oasis was unforgettable as was the breakfast dining experience. The tranquility was much appreciated after a long day of driving. Can't say enough about the beautiful setting and grounds. Staff was very helpful and most accommodating. Truly a wonderful hotel and one I would definitely recommend.

Don't miss Dinner

Ken Gon 06/11/2014 00:32

We arrived late one Friday night (an hour and a half late) and Beatrice was still there waiting for us. I had called ahead to discover all the place offered for dinner was a prix-fixe dinner at 25 euro/person. I didn't have any other choice in a small town at that hour, and are we glad we ate at the hotel. The food was superb; my primi pasta was hand-made ravioli in a buttery spaghetti sauce, all light and flavorful. My wife is both lactose and gluten intolerant. The chef and the staff handled it as if it was no big deal. And we ate like kings, and waddled out stuffed. The place is beautiful, the staff is great, but don't miss dinner!
