Beautiful well kept grounds and facilities. Comfortable clean rooms, though the noise from the road, nearby hotel, and mall made for early rising. Restaurants are all quite good with adequate variety, tho there was no guacamole to be found in the resort?!! Shout to to Jorge in the Veranda, thanks for the bacon!
The walking paths, stairs and bridges pose rather dangerous safety, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PATH! Great pools and swim up bars, bartenders are all wonderful, prompt and friendly. Small beach but great snorkeling with large variety of fishes.
Entertainment was minimal and low key, perfect! No pressure to participate like some resorts do, evening performances were also minimal but entertaining. Catch the Mayan show if you can, well worth the 20 minutes of time. Shout out to Raul who was kind and pleasant, checking to ensure we were enjoying our stay with his warm friendly smile.
The "presentation" people were all around the resort trying to get you into their high pressured sales pitch for time share, rather annoying! But other than that it was a very pleasant vacation week at the Grand Park Royal. I would recommend to family & friends and would return.

We decided staying at this hotel for 4 days for our vacation after read lot of reviews.
I want to suprise my girlfriend with the romantic package which included (Deluxe Romantic Decorated Room, Fruit Basket, 1 Bottle of Wine, 1 Dinner in specialty Restaurant-Free welcome drink-All-Inclusive)
But we NEVER get anything in the package except 1 bottle of Wine which was not good.
I dont know what is the dinner specialty restaurant but they never told us until i make the reservation then they are not available? That is not fair for people spend
more money for this package.
Good things about this hotel. Everyone work here is very nice always smile when they see you. I want to say thank you to Rulo (Raul) he very nice and sweet person.
The beach is very clear for snorkeling lot of fishes. You have to wake up early to get the chairs. I recommend to people who not use the chair please give it to someone who need it. Dont just put the towel there and go somewhere for 2-3 hours then come back. There is some people who need it.
DONT FORGET to tips people.

Room had a fantastic view of the ocean, very clean, staff was exception, polite and very professional. Great variety each night at the supper buffet. Three outstanding specialty restaurants, Mexican, Italian and Caribbean cuisine. One staff member deserves special mention, Bell Boy Chanente Kv. He seem to know what we wanted before we asked. Very attentive, great personality, always smiling.

This is my second time here and again it was wonderful as usual. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the rooms are always beautiful and clean. The access to everything is wonderful and the pools are always very clean. I highly recommend Grand Park Royal! We are bringing our whole family back in February. Another Perfect trip!

I don’t normally write negative reviews. I am old school- if you don’t have anything nice to say ... but what has really changed at Park Royal is more than the name. Not much “Grand” here. Certainly not the service.
We arrived Saturday November 11. I had emailed the concierge three weeks prior to our trip asking to be given a room in building 1 and to ask if we could get robes in our room. Neither of those things happened—but that’s ok. After all we’re in Cozumel right?
Our room had a nice ocean view but no hot water. After calling the front desk twice and speaking with Arturo about the problem we were told that the water was indeed hot and that was as good as it was going to get. The water was tepid at best. We tried once more and this time we were connected to Pedro. He came to our room and admitted he would not be able to shower in that water. He moved us to a room in building 1. The water was actually hot in that room. Thank you Pedro for actually caring about your guests.
The front desk staff is uninformed as to what is going on and isn’t very helpful. They couldn’t tell us anything about the nightly entertainment or even where the activity would be located. One morning we inquired about taking the ferry to Playa and were met with a dead “why are you bothering me” stare. “It leaves every hour”. That was it. Not “do you need a taxi?” “Let me help you with that”. Nothing! Luckily our taxi driver gave us all the information we needed when he was dropping us off.
All the ice machines were broken-we tried 4 different floors. The food in the buffet is absolutely horrible except for breakfast. You’re better off eating a late snack by the pool. The burgers there are good.
We are still here at Grand Park Royal. We have 4 more days. I hope I can add a second review to tell you more positive things. Maybe it will get better.
On the up side. The pools are clean, the resort is clean. The bartenders are friendly.
I’ll update you in a few days. But if your looking to book this hotel now, I would keep shopping.
