A relaxing week, will do again
Andrea Con 11/01/2015 22:55We had already been 10 years ago in Valle Aurina, it is a place where you can find almost always snow for skiing or sledging.
First impression of the Hotel was not good, it is old, but staff was very professional, rooms are big and clean.
Our room was with mountain view and balcony but we ask staff to change since window was big and so much cold can enter, we have a 3yo son, so we got a third floor side room; window was small but room was bigger ;-)
Staff, Martin in particular, really understand the customer's needs.
Restaurant for breakfast and dinner is really good and offer 2-3 choices per dish, my weight grows 2Kgs in 1 week...In Trentino most restaurants do not offer you the choice, they are more like a canteen.
Pool is small and just good for kids, Sauna is also small but not very crowed. I spent 1hr per day in the Sauna: after skiing is really good to warm the body a little bit.
Only one remark is about the door between smoker area and non-smoker area at the entrance, it should be better sealed, smoke is coming out during evening.
Another tip for the owner is to increase the table games, and also have more games in the games room close to the sauna, after dinner family can spend time better!

clarajane2on 05/09/2011 08:46Although there is a lawn and some greenery, the hotel is actually situated on a very busy road so traffic and traffic noise is ever-present. There is absolutely nothing to do in the village of San Giovanni itself (evenings are dire) and we used the hotel as a base for walking and for touring the Aurina Valley area.
The room was ok and quite big, the staff pleasant enough when spoken to, the splash pool was just enough to cool us down in the August heatwave but the restaurant did seem like a rather average canteen - plain food, small portions, little choice and dinner served between half six and half seven for residents.
This hotel is ok as a base for a few days - the price is reasonable, but don't expect anything special.

After three days we left this hotel, Servicelevel is low, old hotel, rooms really worn out. bathroom dirty, diner of very poor quality (only Italian). The breakfast is OK, fresh bread and enough choice. We informed the propiertor, mrs Steffi Obermaier, about our experiences and adviced her to improve the quality of the whole hotel concept. We never expected this in sudtirol, where everything normally is of very high quality !
