Horrible experience

I am usually very easy to please, but this hotel was the absolute pits and a waste of my money. My booking made was also 'non-refundable'.

I booked a 'Superior' room because I needed the free Wi-Fi included in this particular room, I think it was through Hotels.com, for 2 days via the internet . The room itself was ancient and long overdue for a revamp, and had a very stale 'not often used' smell to it. The wallpaper was stripped on parts of the walls, tiles chipped and missing in the bathroom and there wasn't any coffee/tea/jug facilities in the room at all.

On the 1st night, I found 2 stale smelling bath towels in the cupboard, no bath mat or hand towel. I found 2 extra pillows also in the cupboard, which were covered with apparent yellow sweat stains, and way past they use period, just awful.

The bath itself had a large rust stain with water floating in it, rust was evident around the bath edges also. The shower curtain, which I presume was once cream coloured, had large stains throughout it. There were several small cockroaches in the bathroom, enjoying the moisture I presumed. again, just awful.

I did phone reception about the cockroaches the first night, and sadly I was just told "Certainly madam." I phoned reception the morning I left to ask for a luggage trolley for my room, however no one could understand my english, so I went down and got it myself. When the staff realised what I needed, they were very apologetic and eager to help.

I do not put any blame on the staff at all here, it's tragic the lack of upkeep of the Pavillon, as well as the lack of staff training has failed what could be a very beautiful hotel.

Bad place to stay

Poor cleaning of the rooms. No TV in English. Poor quality of food in restaurant. Only good is a seven 11 near and a street with good restaurants in the location. Hotel is old if you ask for thai massage the ladies asume you want sex.

Good old Hotel in Central position.

I had read many other bad reviews about this hotel but booked it based on price and location.

I was pleased that I did.

I honestly think that previous reviewers are far too picky.

Or that they expect 5 star luxury at 1 star price.

Ok , the rooms and the whole hotel has a very tired look about it but the important things were all very good.

The bed was huge, very clean and comfortable.

Bathroom was ok , not brilliant.

I had two comfortable chairs and a table , good wardrobe space , flat screen TV with English News channels and a fridge.

Also the WIFI worked well.

All this plus an ok bfast for less than $22 USD a night.

I have no complaints at all and would stay again without hesitation.

Although locals said it was good, i disagreed

So was in Songklah for 3 days on work, and was asked to stay at this hotel as it was close to the jetty. Seemed like a very big hotel, indeed it was but at the same time was very old and worn out.. The internet in my room was NOT working. Complained twice and asked them to get me to another room. The staff said they would get someone to look into it, but i believe no one really bothered. Hotel corridors we flooding with mosquitoes, and if you keep your room door open for a little bit, you sure won't be sleeping well. Didn't get a very good feel.
On a good note- staff was pretty friendly, and breakfast was decent.
