The staff here are lovely, so helpful and genuinely friendly. The hotel itself looks very nice on arrival and the bar and restaurant serve pretty good meals.
The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable unfortunately, the single bed moved away from the wall constantly due to being on wheels and the pillows were thin and hard...didn’t sleep too well as a result.
The house-keeping was a bit inconsistent - you’d hang your towels up but they would take them away anyway (so much for caring about the environment?) and then items would be completely forgotten - bath mat/hand towel. Dirty cloths left in our bathroom after cleaning. A few nails sticking up out of the carpet.
Wi-fi was absolutely terrible - almost non-existent really.

Pros:
Staff are very attentive and happy to assist
Location is central to where we needed to be
Breakfast was generally good
Cons:
Fortunately wifi was free. If not, I would have demanded my money returned on departure.
This really needs addressing, or stop advertising that you have wifi.
We ended up using the work toggle for wifi.
Breakfast whilst generally good, had the worst scrambled eggs any of us had ever tasted. Runny and inedible.
We tried to purchase drinks from the vending machine in the foyer.
Empty of all but a few bottles of Coke. Is it not possible to arrange a refill through the relevant company that owns the vending machines.
I may stay again for a good price, but I will have to advise the Managing Director of the inability to use the wifi.

We spend 3 nights at Pavilions on Northbourne:
Nights 1 & 2
Our first 2 nights were spent in a 1 bedroom (studio) apartment. The room had been recently refurbished and featured very firm Queen size bed, large screen tv with Foxtel channels, iPhone music speaker, kitchenette with stove, microwave and fridge, dining table for 2, couch and balcony with table and chairs.
The bathroom was older style but had been repainted.
The room was clean and a decent size.
Night 3
Our 3rd night was spent in the “Bellbird Suite”. This room was located in a separate tower and was effectively a large 1 bedroom apartment without a kitchenette. It featured dining table for 2, lounge, fridge, firm Queen size bed, 2 TVs with Foxtel channels and a large marble bathroom with the largest shower cubicle I’ve ever come across.
The hotel’s common areas are showing their age but the service was pleasant throughout and there was plenty of free parking. Free wifi was also included but was so poor that it was almost useless.
The hotel is located on Northbourne avenue and is a 25 minute walk to the city centre and 15 minute walk to Chinatown in Dickson. Parliament House is also walkable if you’re up for a trek.
Overall a decent property if you could pick it up for a good price.

Sadly, having stayed previously with no issues, there is a team line being built outside which the hotel didn't notify anyone about and it goes ALL NIGHT.
Massive digging and even with ear plugs and pillow over my head we couldn't sleep
Changed rooms at 11:30pm and a few others were doing the same, obviously very frustrated and upset
Essentially don't even think about this hotel for 18 months whilst this construction is going on

This is the first time I have stayed in the Pavillion, normally work books the Aria which is connected to this place but alas it was booked out. I had a big few days on the road with the boss and was looking forward at the end of each day to crash somewhere comfortable.
Bit shocked to read that this place is rated 4 and a half stars. It's not. The Elton was ok, the beds were nice and comfy the tv was broken and the shower rails in the bath room were rusty......
As for the rest of the facilities they were very average. Lethe gym would not look out of place in a prison. Poorly equipped and the aircon unit was from the 60's.
What really dropped the ball for me was the general service around the bar area. While I am typing this I have been waiting 30mins for fried eggs which you need to order separately which I did cause the scrambled eggs were nasty. I am Irish an we as a nation love our hot breakfasts. The breakfast on offer here was up there with the worst tasting hot breakfast I have had in a long time.
There feels like there is a lot of staff but they fluff around and don't really acknowledge the customer / guest.
