Pelican Bay has the enviable location of being right beside UNEXSO Dive Center. We came for a 4-day dive trip and it was a terrific success (see separate reviews of UNEXSO, Sabor Restaurant, Dive In Bar and Restaurant, etc.) The property of Pelican Bay is well-maintained with lovely landscaping, a scenic pool area, a romantic and delicious Sabor Restaurant, and a convenient and yummy breakfast restaurant on site. The property is large with several buildings, and it appears there is a pretty wide disparity between furnishings and renovation status of each building/room. Our room was one of the lower end in furnishings and updating, but that did not bother us (except that the bed was not comfortable). We were there to scuba dive and enjoy great scenery and yummy food, all of which we did. Staff was friendly and provided several amenities we did not even have time to take advantage of (such as the free water taxi to the adjacent beach). Well-stocked bar with a free "Bahama Mama" for each guest was a nice touch. We would definitely stay here on a future trip, though we would probably ask for a newer bed. Pelican Bay is lovely.

We booked a suite. Lots of space and small balcony with deck chairs. Like most places in Freeport the hotels are dated and/or storm damaged. The hotel is attempting to do a facelift. Daunting task since the hotel is in need od TLC. We enjoyed the location and amenities.

Location was good, around local shops and several restaurants. The hotel staff was very friendly. Room was just ok very outdated, small TV and bed was not comfortable, and don't get me started on the bathroom. it was a place to sleep.
Hotel would be really nice fixed up as it has a good location on the island.

the room was clean and spacious the tv was to small for the size of the room the balcony was nice the bed was very comfortable will return in the future --parking was terrible --security on the property was ok

Stayed here with my wife for a night. We paid $170.00 for a night. As we walked into the room we noticed the door lock was broken. Then we walked into the kitchen area there was a sign that said first bottle of water is free and you would have to pay for every other bottle but there was no water in the room. The sink in the kitchen was covered in lime it looked so nasty we did not use it. I then turned on the old tube tv to find that half the channels were missing and the other half was blurry. My wife then goes to wash her hands in the bathroom and the water coming out of the sink was orange. I then went to shower the tub was dirty and the shower head had to much lime and rust on it that it was stuck facing the wall so it was a very uncomfortable shower and the faucet had so much rust and lime that it was hard for me to turn it on and impossible for my wife. The pillows sucked the bed was nice. The ac was to small for the room so the room was very hot and the fan kept turning off all during the night, and there is no switch to turn it off and on so we had to get up and pull the string on the fan. As we checked out the next morning I told the lady behind the desk about the room and she said "yes we know we have to put money into them rooms on that wing". If they know that the rooms need work why rent them to people and rent them for so much money. For $170.00 I was expecting a nice room not the nasty outdated room we got. The only reason I gave this resort a 2 star is because the resort is located in the center of town so it is in the middle of all of the restaurants and tours. This hotel is run down and very outdated avoid at all cost.
