An excellent base for exploring Snowdonia
21C_Travelleron 08/11/2017 12:30We spent two nights here recently, using the guest house as a base for walking in Snowdonia. Lauraine and Simon are warm and generously hospitable hosts and we occupied a characterful upstairs room with a spotless ensuite bathroom and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We had our evening meals at restaurants in nearby Betws-y-Coed (less than 10 minutes' drive away) and enjoyed Lauraine's breakfast each morning, with homemade jams and preserves on offer. Overall, an excellent place to stay in a beautiful part of Wales.

Fantastic Gem
206franciscan0211on 01/11/2017 16:50Stayed at The Old Coach House - a self-contained self catering cottage next to the Hall. Cottage has 2 bedrooms (each can have a king size bed in it or 2 singles), hot tub, bathroom, separate WC, sitting room type area and great kitchen-diner.
It is furnished and fitted out to a very high standard and is a quiet part of the village.
Great base for Betwys-y-coed, Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, Snowdon, Snowdon Mountain Railway, Llechwed Slate Mines, Conwy Falls, Sparrow Falls and a reasonable drive from Llandudno and Llangollen.
In short, its a great base for the whole of Snowdonia.
My partner and I loved it so much that we've rebooked to go next year as well.
Please don't tell too many people - its really is THAT good and I'd hate it to be booked up when I want to go!!!!!!
Beautiful base for a North Wales trip!
Helen Con 30/09/2017 19:08Stayed in the Coach House for a week with my partner whilst exploring North Wales. Had fantastic week. Coach House has pretty much everything you need, is comfortable and luxurious. No mobile signal but the wifi is more than adequate. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice week away!
Luxury base for Walkers
ksjsonon 13/08/2017 12:20Penmachno Hall provides a welcoming and comfortable base for those visitors who want a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere after a wet day walking in Snowdonia. Whilst it is a short drive to decent restaurants there are a good number to choose from (although booking for a Fri/Sat is recommended). The hosts Simon and Laurianne were friendly, attentive and accommodating. The honesty bar is well stocked and not over priced, breakfast is more than sufficient for a good start to the day. Overall a pleasant 2 night stay, wish it could have been longer.
