Found hotel at last minute. Stayed in one of the 3 bed apartments. Mad hatter I think and it's was good. Nice location in centre of town. Ideal for walking cycling and touring in new forest. Comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. Allowed us to store bikes in secure room overnight which was relief. Breakfast was very good. Plenty if food and more importantly ample tea and coffee. Recommend as a comfortable stop over.

5 days in the Triumph room. Very spacious, warm, comfortable. Don't look at the wallpaper :) A little noisy from the main road in the morning, but that was ok, it worked as our alarm clock. Lovely breakfast. Up there with the best establishments. It's an old building with a few creaks etc., So what! We enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely. Great location.

Very nice hotel and staff, great breakfast, room very clean and tidy, bar a bit short of stock. Good location for all in Lyndhurst, plenty of parking spaces, heating a bit hit and miss had to ask for it to be turned on.

not the worst place .. but not the best... room was up some steep stairs, it was dated and had a cheep feel .. poor quality shower, slowest kettle in the history of kettles .the room was also a bit cold and noisy due to lack of sound proof windows .
staff where friendly , breakfast was great . location was great for the town ... if it cost £60 a night it would be more realistic than the £98 we where charged.

We have just had a lovely 2 night stay at the penny farthing. Our original room was on the small side so we asked if we could possibly have a bigger room and were immediately upgraded to a huge flat which was lovely. the staff couldnt have been more helpful and we were so grateful. Breakfast was good and plentiful with as much tea or coffee as we wanted. I would recommend the penny farthing to anyone.
