Pensione is fab if you’re a single business traveller on a budget. Within 2 mins walk from the AirBus drop off spot at Southern Cross, it’s an oasis in the otherwise usual low end places around transport hubs.
The staff on the desk are cheerful, friendly and extremely helpful. I asked to check in a couple of hours early and within 5 mins they found me a room.
I was in a Shoebox room and it does everything you ask of it. Comfortable bed, (small) desk area, clean ensuite shower and bathroom area, reasonable cupboard and hanging space and a decent sized refrigerator.
Free WiFi is included and if I have a gripe then it was the WiFi was much too slow for today’s general business needs (ie not enough bandwidth for a good quality Skype call).
Overall - a great place and I’ll definitely be back.

Easy access to trams and train to help get around Melbourne. Very close to Skybus drop off - no need for taxis or extra transport. Great little cafe/bar on ground level - handy for breakfast and coffees. Stored our luggage on last day after check out.

Pensione hotel is very close to everything and mostly walking distance to city and surrounds.
Beds were comfortable, lifts were efficient. Room's were small and compact but we didn't need much space, the only downfall was the bathroom size, so tiny.
Staff were friendly and rooms cleaned daily.
I would stay again

Good Location near southern cross station, I can drop down the luggage quickly and thanks for your staff help keeping my luggage before I got the room. I am very surprised your staff prepared the greeting card & chocolate, thank you very much.

The location of the hotel is very convenient for arriving from the airport and for exploring the city. The staff is extremely friendly.
The rooms in the ground floor are very noisy i could hear everything happening outside in the reception area as if it was inside my room, sometimes i couldn't even sleep!
The rooms are very small although the room i booked (the double room) wasn't actually the smallest one.
