Stumbled across this browsing Travel Republic. It is. A small hotel above a church set on the mountain side on the Alcudia peninsula. Formally for priests and then pilgrims in search of a peaceful contemplative setting it now has 13 rooms open to the public.
It is quiet and remote so a car is useful. The hotel is spotlessly clean thanks to Carmen who runs the place on a daily basis. She is the front desk and breakfast provider as well and though limited English is very helpful with information. The rooms are on the small side but adequate to our needs. The ceiling fan turns the air which eventually cools but open the windows and if necessary a small mosquito net to cover it. The breakfast had a wide selection of dried and fresh fruits which varied from day to day. It is a continental style buffet including cereal, breads, meats, boiled eggs, cheese and cakes and more. Fruit juice , tea and coffee are available. You can even bring your own breakfast and cook later in the day. The availability of a kettle would be a benefit. There is a good restaurant a two minute walk away. The scenery is wonderful and the views magical.

We've just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. We had a lovely double room on the top floor with a great view over the sea. The room was quite simple but comfortable (especially the beds). Bathroom was very small but did the job. It's quite far from everything else so if you want to go into Alcudia or other areas you would need a car. The only problem we had with the hotel was checking in and out. When we got there (within the check in times) there was no one at reception and when we found a member of staff there had been a mix up with the names. When we went to check out there was no one there again so we had to leave the key with the cleaner.
Overall a nice stay and the view from our window is now my favourite view ever.

We booked a double room (as opposed to the 'economy double' room) and think there is definitely some randomness as to whether you are given a room on the top floor (which seem to be the NON-economy doubles) and one on the main floor (which seem to be the economy doubles). The difference is in the size of the double rooms themselves and of the window size, which makes a big difference- on the main floor, there is only one tiny window like a porthole which does not allow for a view or much circulation of air. We had requested a non-economy double and room with a view but arrived late at night and were disappointed to be left a key for a main floor non-view, tiny window room. I would recommend arriving early in the day to request an upper floor room if you are wanting a double.
Otherwise this is not a luxury hotel but very clean and unique. The place is church-owned, and used to be used for church retreats for members of the church, so is fairly spartan. The bathrooms for instance are miniscule, certainly not large enough for more than 1 person to be in at a time. But there is wifi and a decent-size breakfast. and if you keep your expectations fairly low and an open mind, you will find it a unique and lovely experience.
We loved the definite quiet of the park-like setting, and the fantastic drive up the long road through the park to the hotel, which are the best parts of this hotel. The area is really spectacular and we were really pleased to have spent 2 nights here.
As long as you don't come expecting a luxury 5 star hotel, you can find the charm of this lovely little find (which we read about in an article in the Guardian!) We came to Mallorca all the way from Canada so were pleased to have experienced this place as part of our stay.

Great destination for peaceful holidays with family and even kids! The rooms are a bit small but the beds are very comfortable, the service nice and very kind and the place itself compensate for every unconformity. Even if it's not usually chosen by families with children due to its calmness and visitor profile, it is worth a visit in low season for having a peaceful stay close to the nature and to the small town Alcudia, with fine restaurants and nice people everywhere!

If your travellers soul takes you to the special ones, those unique destinations shared by very engaged and personal souls . . . then this is one for you. It is remote and therein lays its charm. Only those committed to adoring the peace of the Mallorca landscape come visit. From the sea below to the mountain behind it is a special setting. There are cyclists and hikers galore, but my stay required three days of staying put, no chasing about - just a peaceful sense of place . . . and this one made it special. Great comfort, great breakfast and great service from a personally dedicated and small team.
