I really loved this hotel. The room was quiet beautifully designed, with a particularly nice bathroom. Mostly, however, I appreciated the warm welcome I received. I wasn't simply given a key, but taken to my room and shown around a bit. The breakfast (on a garden terrace) was terrific, and the man on duty very solicitous. The staff helped me find my way around, and steered me to a good restaurant. I felt safe and at home here, and hope to stay here again someday.

We drove in from Milan after flying in that day from Houston. Francesco was warm and welcomed us in right away. Our room was just amazing - coming from the US, I don't always expect the rooms in Europe to be as nice - I get it, it's old over here. This room was so nicely updated - the bathroom as well. The bed was a bit hard, but that seems to be the norm over here. Francesco was very helpful getting us to a restaurant for dinner, and orienting us in the dark. The next morning, Utta was also very nice. Breakfast was so good - don't just grab a plate and sit, because then they come offer fresh cooked eggs as well! We hiked up to Citta Alta - glad we left early - it was a tough walk. If you decide to come here to Bergamo - stay here. You won't be disappointed.

The Petronella Hotel in Bergamo, Italy is a gem. It is a boutique hotel on a small quiet street well located to the town nearby or Citta Alta on the hill. Each room has a different décor and our bathroom was very large with a great shower. Every afternoon when we returned there was a new selection of sweets and water. The selections for breakfast were delicious and we loved eating breakfast outdoors in the garden out back. Ute was extremely helpful and couldn’t have been nicer. Our only complaint is that we didn’t have more time to spend there.

My husband and I stayed here recently for a wedding in Bergamo. Uta and her team could not have provided better service! Literally they went above and beyond, everything from emailing in advance of our stay to ask if we had booked transportation from the airport (we hadn't, and they took care of it) to transport to the wedding and the QC Terme spa in San Pelligrino (go there, it's amazing) to hair appointments for the wedding. Also the breakfast is top notch, such fresh fruit and amazing eggs made to order. I'm a hard judge of hotel breakfast but this one passes all tests. Also I am Coeliac, and they had loads of gluten free goodies for me at breakfast. Lastly bathrooms are big for Italy and rain showers are amazing!!! Honestly this hotel is such a little gem but it's really Uta and her friendliness and helpfulness that made the difference for us.

A beautiful boutique hotel, very attentive to guests. A bottle of champagne and fruits awaited us as it was my wife's birthday. They delivered a delicious breakfast to the room to enjoy on our balcony.
Retro decor, comfortable bed.
We took a larger room, and it was big.
They parked my car, but you pay (not clear what it cost - it wasn't mentioned at any stage until checkout).
The upper city is a half hour walk up the hill. 12 € will get you there in a taxi in ten minutes. Endless places to eat at the old part of town.
