Prada? More like Primark!

After failing to find a double room in our 1st choice hostel in Cusco, we searched out the Pirwa Prada Hostel in Miraflores (careful there's x2 Pirwa's in Miraflores) based on our satisfactory stay in it's sister hostel in Cusco. Although the hostel appeared quite empty the staff informed us we were fortunate to bag the last room albeit with matrimonial double bed. The room was ok although slightly on the small side and wasn't the best value for £20/ $32. There were only x2 unisex showers and communal toilets which must come under pressure when the hostel is full. We didn't manage breakfast as we had to set of early for our flight home the next morning but the guy on reception at night was very helpful and ensured a taxi was ordered and a fair price was agreed before hand unlike our taxi experience after leaving the sister hostel in Cusco.
The hostel is in an ok location and has internet, WIFI and be warned there's also a snooker table with pockets the likes of which I have never seen. It took us nearly two hours to complete one game mainly due to our abysmal pool skills but also due to the outrageously narrow pockets.
cheap cheerful and hospitable

I was recommended this hostel, also close to Centre of miraflores, the staff are very courteous helpful as to buses directions and tourist information suited for backpackers.Itchmis the guy at the desk is very informative and helped me formulate an itinary to reach Machu Picchu via Araquiba and Cusco. Also later to trujillo. The dorm rooms are clean and breakfast standard but filling. I can thoroughly recommend this place
Quiet and dingy but helpful

I stayed 2 nights here. A bit dark and dingy in the reception area. My dorm (I had it to myself for both nights) was on the top floor, opening onto a little patio. Hardly anyone else staying there (although it was booked out by a big group the next night). Owner was helpful with a bit of information, spoke reasonable English, although a bit pedantic about leaving the one key for the dorm behind when going out. Simple but good free breakfast & reliable wifi. Room a little bit noisy from street noise, despite being on a side street.
Staff super friendly, great location, loud at night!

We stayed here for 1 night, and what a night it was. After a night of partying on 'Pizza Street', we came back to our room (2nd floor) and tried to get some shut-eye for an early morning. Unfortunately that didn't happen. The windows in our room didn't really serve a purpose as the sound from the busy road entered with ease. Perhaps it was because I was in the bed closest to the window, but I got maybe 1 hour of sleep MAX that night.
That being said, the staff was super friendly; they showed us around 'Pizza Street' when they got off work and were fun to hang around. The breakfast was mediocre; the generic fruit, cereal, juice mix. All in all, a fun place to live but try to get a room that is insulated from the noise outside!
