Very helpful staff and pleasantly appointed hotel. About twenty minutes to walk to station and bus station. Handy for the airport (taxi booked by hotel was €25). Enjoyed a couple of meals in the restaurant with a roof terrace overlooking the sea. Some rooms have a sea view and it is worth the extra.

It was a short trip in Catania so we spent only 4 nights in the hotel. The staff is very kind and helpfull. The view from room is excellent and the breakfast on the 4th floor with panorama is very nice! I think rooms are used a little bit..particularly the bathroom! In my opinion this is a *** hotel, but a very good *** hotel!! ;) (Buses go to city centre only once an hour, and you don't know when! :D )

We booked this hotel because we were arriving at Catania Airport in the evening and we had a car to hire and then didn't really want to travel at night. The hotel was perfect for this but I was also sorry that we hadn't allowed ourselves much time to enjoy the hotel and its facilities. The hotel does look like it is mainly used by business travellers or guests like ourselves who are moving on but it is located close to the beach and there are restaurants located along the beach road.
Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated but we were very disappointed to find that a wing of the hotel had no running water that night so we couldn't shower before dinner or use the toilets in the rooms. The hotel was apologetic but not prepared to reduce the price of the room and as this wasn't a budget hotel I felt that was not acceptable. Normal service was resumed the following morning and we were able to shower before breakfast.
Breakfast was very good. We sat on the terrace and had a choice of cooked and continental breakfast with cereals, juices and yoghurts as well as some wonderful assorted bread with cold meat and cheese.
So taking everything into consideration I did think the hotel was a good hotel but overpriced considering the inconvenience of no running water.

Stayed in the hotel in October. My impression is that it's more a location for businessman and conferences, however it is still perfect for couples and families. Situated about 10 mins by taxi from the airport away from the chaos of the city on the seafront. Access to the city centre either by walking (around 35 mins) or bus (stop is a couple of minutes away and ride takes around 10 mins although buses are not frequent). Rooms are comfortable and spacey, modern and maintained. We had a room exactly near the lifts and stairs, however there was no particular disturbance. Hotel has its own shuttle service, which although a bit more expensive than the taxi companies in Catania, is 100% reliable

Very clean, warm and friendly,nice rooms with WiFi
The service is excellent centrally located to many restaurants, near the water and various attractions
I would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the Plaza Hotel Catania Sicily
