We stayed at Port City Guest House with another couple and for all of us this was our first stay at a B&B. We could not have asked for a better experience. Sophie is an awesome host. She made us feel like we had known her forever. Breakfast was amazing and the table was always set beautifully. The house was clean and decorated nicely. The location was very convenient to the Riverwalk area and the front porch was a nice place to relax. We all had a great time and would recommend Port City Guest House to anyone looking for something beyond the typical hotel stay.

My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Port City Guest House and were very pleased with our stay. Sophie is an exceptional host who does not hesitate to spin a tale as well as share stories of the town with you. The house is decorated in a fun way and the rooms are very inviting and comfortable. We had the room that had its own bathroom and the other rooms share a bathroom. I am sure either way is fine but I was happy having our own bathroom. The location of the house is very convenient and the parking in the back is a simple but nice benefit. Sophie makes a tasty and filling breakfast in the mornings and also has late afternoon snacks which could serve as a meal of its own. I am sure we will be back next time we are in Wilmington. This B&B is a definite keeper :)

Beautiful, stately home, clean and cozy, but the best part was the owner, Sophie. We felt like we were home away from home. Absolutely love this place!!! Outdoor grounds were pristine, could walk around the neighborhood to stretch your legs.

Looking for a getaway to Wilmington? Received a gift certificate from my Marine son for a getaway to my happy place Wilmington. This was my first experience at a Bed & Breakfast. What a delightful experience it was. The house was all decorated for the holidays. With lighted garland all around the winding stair case. We were welcomed with cheese & crackers and decadent sweets and wonderful conversation by the owner Sophie. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast. But Sunday morning we had her special recipe of homemade waffles,warm maple syrup and crisp bacon. Great Southern Hospitality. What a treat it was ... Thank you Sophie for spoiling us.

Wonderful hospitality, and incredible breakfast. Reasonable walk downtown. It's a 100 year old house, so as long as you accept that as part of the charm when taking a shower in a retrofitted tub, you'll have a great experience.
