Great value luxury apartments in an excellent location in Lagos

We stayed 3 nights at these lovely high quality apartments which are perfectly located in Lagos - a few mins walk to the main restaurants but really peaceful. We had booked a studio but were given a spacious one bedroom apartment with a great sea view, which was very well equipped with everything we needed. Jessica on the front desk was charming and extremely helpful, giving great restaurant suggestions which we followed. On our last evening, we chatted to an equally charming and helpful young guy on reception, but didn't get his name.We liked being able to park outside the property for most of the time, and only a minute's walk when no spaces were available outside. The pool area looked lovely, but we didn't get to use it. Would not hesitate to return.

This was a return visit after 3 years to this very value for money hotel. Recently been through an extensive modernisation programme - particularly the bathrooms. Very nice SC accommodation of studios and apts very near to the main centre of Lagos - clean tidy and very welcoming staff,
Ideal Location and Amazing Staff!

My sister and I stayed at Baluarte da Vila Apartments a few weeks ago and had a great experience. To start, the service was amazing! Jessica was so helpful booking our transfer from the apartment, friendly and helped us find a kayaking tour at the last minute. She also even helped out in changing our train tickets for us. The location is also amazing! You're a 5 minute walk from downtown (safe area) and we could walk to the beaches such as Praia Batata and Praia don Ana in 10/15 minutes. The room had a beautiful view of the ocean and having the pool was great, it was quiet and clean. The rooms were also very clean and you can tell the bathrooms were recently redone. Big bathroom with a great shower!
The reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is the wifi. It was spotty and made researching/looking things up a little difficult. Otherwise, we highly recommend for a great place to stay while you're in Lagos!

We stayed here for 6 nights just last week with our young daughter. Jessica and the other gentleman who ran the front desk (sorry, never got his name!) are fabulous to deal with and incredibly helpful. This place is a great place to stay as you are within the city walls and close to all of those ancient city streets.
For what it is, this place is fantastic - clean rooms, family friendly and peaceful. We had the 2-floor suite where bedroom and bathroom are upstairs while the living room and kitchen comprise downstairs. We also had an ocean view from our bedroom. The pool is enormous, clean and we thought it was very well taken care of. You will easily have your own space to swim at any time of the day (believe pool is open from 8am-8pm).
A couple of things detract from this being 5-star review:
- wifi reception was spotty at the BEST of times. It constantly cut in and out, when it was even available. This was after we spoke with reception twice about having this improved (they did their best but they're not tech support). In this day and age, unless you are looking to completely disconnect from society and don't upload pictures or check the news, it can be a bit of a turn off. We just hot-spotted my wife's phone but that was an unnecessary workaround in my opinion. For best results, try to connect to the pool's wifi (they have various access points, none of them that strong).
- parking is difficult at the best of times, part of this is due to being on ancient, smaller city streets and the other part is that the city, for some reason, doesn't allow folks to park close to the wall. This could be part of a conservation effort but all we saw was a nice potential parking lot - the apartments should consider talking to the city about making that a viable parking lot for them. You'll notice that some folks have taken matters into their own hands and removed the aluminum poles that were in the ground blocking access!
All in all though, it is a secure, lovely place close to the heart of it all. Would recommend for anyone, especially those looking to disappear and not go online for a few days!
Great Stay!

We were there for three nights. Just within the old city walls but in a quieter neighborhood. Very accessible by car. Parking was nearby. Walk to everything easily with just a small hill home. The apartment was lovely. Very large with two floors and a top deck with views of the sea. The pool was refreshing according to my husband. Too chilly for my taste. Staff was very nice. Building was very secure. Only negative was smokers on patios either side of us. We could not leave our windows open without smelling smoke. Otherwise, I highly recommend!
