The Landlord friendly. The Bed was comfortable and clean and so was the room. Would recommend to stay for bed only, would not recommend the breakfast. Rubber mat in the bath was mouldy, shame it wasn't thrown and a new one bought. Bathroom was clean other than that. Would recommend for a one night bed only.
It certainly was slightly different

Well I'd read some of the reviews - so I went in with my eyes open. Host v nice chap and breakfast absolutely first class. But tbh accommodation wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but caveat emptor so I can't criticise. More fun than the Premier Inn though

This was booked by a friend of mine and we arrived before they did. Shop was closed and there was a note in the window to call the owner Andy. Called the number and received no response but what I had discovered looked a bit odd to say the least. That said we then went to the town centre and sat outside a café/pub it took an hour for Andy to respond we then agreed to meet up 30 mins later. We met up and were taken in by the shop door then through quite a narrow passageway, to what is the breakfast room/shop store room. We were then shown to the rooms. Bedroom 1 nice size however by the time you have a king size, single bed, 2 seater sofa with a wardrobe behind it the rooms becomes quite a bit smaller, however it was quite bright and was on the main road side of the property. Bathroom was totally separate and didn't go in so no comment from me. We were then shown bedroom 2 little flat entrance with a wardrobe on it then crammed in to the room was a double and single bed with not a lot of room between them and down two steps to floor of the bedroom area. Chairs and tables in the way didn't leave a lot of space to move around the room. Bathroom looked dated although the shower was hot even if the cold and hot were mixed up. However Andy did explain this to us. All the rooms needed a deep clean, i can imagine the cleaning of the rooms to be quite a hard task due to the lack room to manoeuvre things about, this maybe why they are not cleaned regularly, however at least the bedding looked clean. On the first night the Beverly poltergeist struck and we had no electricity for lighting when we arrived back at the property and had to negotiate our way round by phone light. Contacted Andy and he did come and sort the problem out, WiFi was great in the rooms. We had arranged breakfast for 9.00 and Andy turned up at potts about 8.50 I presume to do breakfast. I have to point out that the same attire was worn which he was sweating in the day before when he met us. This put two people off their breakfast, cutlery wasn't the cleanest. I tried some of the breakfast and it was hot so freshly cooked however given what we saw with the general state of the shop and rooms, How clean was the kitchen area ?. The second day there was no bedroom tidy and remake of beds hmm. We sorted alternative for breakfast the next day. Sorry for the essay but I do like to give honest reviews. This B & B is not even 1*, pictures look better than the reality due to how you can make the angles look. I WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN. WE WERE OVER CHARGED. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Not even sure the 3* sticker in the window is correct although not being in the business I might be mistaken. Given the comments from the owner he may try and make light of these comments BE CAREFUL.
Lovely Stay

I read the reviews and was a little apprehensive.I shouldn't have been . Our stay was deliteful . Yes it is a little quirky , but, it is homely and our host couldn't have done more for us . The breakfast was lovely and once again our host went the extra mile by also catering for an additional breakfast guest . The location is excellent for all local venues .I am a frequent visitor to Beverley and will certainly stay here again .
