I had a very pleasant stay at the pousada back in July. It's is outside the town so is nice & quiet. Manuel & his family were very helpful. He even lent me his bike to cycle into town. He also provides a taxi service into town. Breakfast was good great to enjoy outside near pool. I recommend highly!
Friendly and quiet pousada

We arrived in Paraty after 5 hours driving through MG's landscape. It was 2:00 am. It was during the festival of Cachaça and there were a lot of tourist. Finally, we find the Pousada outside the heart of the city, but not far at all (20 minutes from the center).
Nico welcome us and propose a solution for a quiet night.
When we wake up, Manuel and his wife enjoy discussing with us. They explain how they arrived in Paraty from Spain.
We spend a very nice we. They try to do anything for you.
The parrot is very friendly

We stayed at Pousada Cicerone for 3 days during our trip down the Costa Verde. We were looking to stay a decent pousada that was not too pricy and Pousada Cicerone definitely delivered. We were the only guests at the time and overall we were satisfied with our stay. The pousada is a bit far from the historic center (I thought it would be an easy walk, but with the sun and confusing streets it was not a good idea), but on the plus side this meant the location was more quiet and relaxing. The pousada is located in a residential neighborhood (there are some other pousadas nearby) so we moved back and forth via cabs (like R$15 each) which was fine and quick. The pousada was very helpful in trying to help us organize activities during the trip (advice: go to Trindade beach). The pousada was more than fine for the price we paid, but don't expect super luxury or great scenery.
