Good location. Suites have a good view of the valley. Almost in the heart of mcleodganj. Restaurant too offers good food choices. Service is fine. Polite staff and helpful. Almost next door to dalai lama temple. A lot of multi cusine outlets nearby. Calm and quite people and place. Worth a try for a short quite vacation.

Sub-standard hotel in over-crowded Mcleod Ganj

This was one of the low-points of a two-week trip in the Himalayan foothills. The drive up the hill to Mcleod Ganj in a taxi was a chaotic, hair-raising experience due to the incredible traffic congestion, with just millimetres clearance from on-coming vehicles. The hotel has some good views over the valley below (though partly obscured by mist / smog). Apart from that, it's a basic hotel just one level up from back-backer standard.
Our room had ill-fitting windows that wouldn't close out the noise from the street below, dirty towels, marks on walls, and a very primitive "wet room" bathroom with a shower that sprayed everywhere. The whole place is crying out for refurbishment.
The restaurant served average quality food especially at breakfast where there was a poor selection of non-Indian items - we ended up just having some rather nasty toast and butter with a horrid instant coffee.
The final straw was that the credit card machines failed to accept our UK credit cards at check-out, requiring a visit to an ATM down the road to get some cash. Manager just shrugged and tried to blame our card (though we never had a problem anywhere else in India). The road outside is extremely narrow and traffic whizzes past so not a great place to go walking any distance.
Basic

The good points
1 - view across valley, through the trees with the monkeys
2- free Wi-Fi
3 - complimentary water, one tea and one coffee bag
Otherwise
- the rooms are simple (fair enough) but also not clean, cold, the bathroom is very basic - a toilet & sink in a wet room - with few towels and no hairdryer, and
- the windows are filthy
- the service in the restaurant is slow and the food at breakfast sparse and poor quality.
If we had arrived in the area early enough to see the Dalai Lama’s Home, instead of being stuck in a 90 minute nose to tail traffic jam up the mountain, it may have been worth it. Arriving in the dark we had to wonder why we were here.
Valley views

The hotel is centrally located, next to the market street, local bazaars and eateries.
The hotel accommodation is basic and the adjoining bar noise may cause a disturbed nights sleep as the music is loud, if we had been staying more than one night we would have been asking for a room move. The restaurant staff however are very attentive and eager to please, food is good with good portions.
