Nice hotel, repetitive food menu, no atmosphere
gran11on 09/10/2017 11:11This is a pretty hotel in nice grounds with a lovely,if very cold, pool BUT rooms are small with very small area for clothing, the food though good was repetitive and uninteresting and once dinner was over there was no atmosphere at all. On top of this Dassia itself is also quite run down and it is difficult to find places to eat that didn’t have a TV, usually showing football.
The closest beaches are small and stoney but the area around the hotel was clean and pretty with a large, though very cold, pool and plenty of sun beds. However the music was repetitive coming from the pool bar and the pool food menu was limited but reasonably priced.
Meals in the dining room were predictable and we got the same dishes after 3 days. There was almost always pasta and rice with every meal and rarely a potato choice and hardly ever a vegetable. The cold option was always salad but to go with it usually some sort of pie which I’m sure were nice but not very exciting. There was always a soup which looked slightly different each night but always labelled Beef Soup and always with a layer of grease on top. I’m not sure how it tasted as it didn’t look enticing! Breakfast was, as expected, Continental but never any variation at all. The biggest disappointment was that there wasn’t any fruit except tinned fruit. Most places I’ve been at least have a basket of fruit on offer every day. We did ONCE have watermelon! The Greek dishes served up were delicious but often not what I would have expected.
Once the evening meal was over the bar was open but unless you sat out on the terrace having a drink where you were choked by the smoke from the cigarettes there was nothing else to do as the pool bar was closed and there was no atmosphere at all.
This is a very clean hotel with lovely friendly staff but I feel it needs to move into the 21st century with MUCH better Wi-fi and better options at meals, especially for vegetarians, and offering more in the way of fruit and vegetables for those of us who like to eat our 5-a-day. And perhaps a chest of drawers so we didn’t have to live out of a suitcase for two weeks.
One more thing, if you have more than one electronic device you will need a multiple adapter as there is only one electrical socket
nice friendly family run hotel very clean and tidy

Good value
colinharrison766on 27/09/2017 12:48we stayed in September 2017 for a week,it was a last minute deal!
The hotel is a pleasant one with a beautiful well kept garden and pool area.
The whole place is very clean, rooms are serviced daily.
Be aware that some rooms are refurbished while others are not,we initially got a room not yet refurbished, the bathroom was particularly dated and unpleasant,it was also at the main road end of the hotel,we found it too noisy (but we live in a very quite area at home)
We found the beds very uncomfortable!
The staff moved us as soon as another room was available, very helpful.
The public areas were very nice and newly improved.
The food was plentiful if repetitive, not good for vegetarians, only one fish dish in a week, but plenty of greek salad and bread.
Overall good value for the price we paid!
Nice hotel in Dassia
Neilius Mon 18/09/2017 19:22I enjoyed my stay in Primavera hotel... The place was comfortable and the staff helpful. The room was a good size and the beds comfortable.
The only reason why I'm not giving 5/5 is because Wifi is a paid extra - something I have never come across before. Bit disappointing. Other than that, very nice all round.
Good Location Nice Grounds. Helpful Staff.
2englishladieson 14/09/2017 00:10When we first arrived we were placed in room 160 which was a grim dark room near the main road. We are two ladies in our seventies and this room had 2 bunk beds, a single,
and a double. Five beds in all. The daylight came in from the single opening door and a car was parked five yards away.
We complained immediately and the staff were very obliging and moved us to room 216. This was a great room with a superb modern bathroom. Shower with sliding curved doors..Nice view of garden.
The air conditioning is 5 euros per night.
WiFi by the pool is free but does not work very well.
Paid WiFi is much better in the hotel and starts at 1.50 euros.
The house wine is 6 euros a bottle and un named. Mythos beer 3 euros
The bus stop to Corfu town is just across the busy road and fare is 2.30 euros there.
Return is 1.70 euros from the kiosk in town. Blue bus.
Dassia is pretty much run down, some nice restaurants.. but Ipsos is pretty and scenic.
The Primarvera is a family run hotel run by the Patriarch Nikos, his family are lovely.
The pool area is pleasant with a well run bar.
The hotel and the environs are clean and well kept.
Many nationalities here and always busy, Can be noisy.
