What People are saying

Loved this hotel!

Scottsgem on 20/11/2017 22:42

We happened upon the Princess Anne Hotel, and just loved it. The rooms were great, the bed comfortable, the food amazing. The wine and appetizers were a perfect start to our evening. It was cold and windy this past Saturday, and sitting next to the large fireplace took the chill off as we enjoyed our wine. Treat yourself and stay here.

Charming inn, staff is overwhelmingly accommodating. I was not keen on owner's "directives"...

Scarletleaf on 12/11/2017 20:35

Pros:
The inn is both historical and charming, and the on-site staff was wonderful. Very personable and obviously customer-focused. Our suite was lovely and clean, and the Nespresso machine everyone else raves about was a nice touch for me as well. The living room with the gas fireplace was lovely on a cold evening, as were the hot beverages and cookies still available after dinner. Breakfast was delicious - although the portions were quite small. I was hungry a couple of hours later!

Cons:
Personally, I found the bed much too firm for my liking. So be forewarned if you prefer a soft bed. Also, the inn-provided half and half in the refrigerator was several weeks past expiration. When having that first cup of coffee in the morning, I don't want to have to get dressed in my day clothes just to go get cream that is within date. Lastly, this is just a quirk of mine - but the dark brown towels in the bathroom were a bit disconcerting. I prefer my hotel towels bright and white so I can verify they aren't stained from previous guests. Yes, this is a personal weirdness, I know ;)

Owner "communications":
Although we did not meet the owner, I found his written directives, quite frankly, off-putting. To start, before we even arrived I received an email advising us that we were to respect the inn, staff, and other guests. I found this rather strange - especially for this type of lodging. It's not a Days Inn in Panama City Beach! Second, I noted an envelope left on the nightstand for housekeeping tips, or to leave a note for the owner. This by itself was not an issue - we've often left tips for housekeeping - envelope provided or not. But in the room info binder, guests are told to "remember your housekeepers"! Excuse me? The owner of an inn (or any establishment, IMO) has NO business telling guests to tip his staff - which is how I interpreted this directive. Has the whole tipping business gotten so out of hand that a business owner thinks it appropriate to do this? This was just plainly distasteful, and combined with the earlier email left a poor impression.

Princess Anne is a Special Place

janicealt on 12/11/2017 18:47

The complimentary afternoon wine with appetizers and the complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations! The place may be old but is charming! The best part for us was the knowledgeable and friendly staff. They actually took time to talk with you as well as answer questions about what to do and where to go. As long as you're not expecting "brand new" furnishings, etc. you won't be disappointed.

We adore Princess Anne!

We have been to Princess Anne a few times now and we continue to go back for a reason! The quaint, unique and special atmosphere is unlike any other. The staff is always SO friendly and truly go out of their way to make sure your stay is incredible. We had a bottle of champagne and flutes in our room as a welcome gift for being a loyal customer. It was an incredible surprise! The breakfast items are always unique and delicious and a homemade muffin at the coffee station is just one of the many small touches this hotel provides. Complimentary wine and hor dourves from 4:30-6:00 are a great start to your evening, the beds are comfortable, individualized heating/air in each room are fantastic, the rates are affordable and the various sitting areas (with extremely comfortable furniture) around the hotel are a perfect place to relax. Your stress melts away with your stay. Also, Princess Anne is within walking distance to downtown-but yet tucked far enough away to avoid any late night noise. We adore this town and this hotel. We cannot wait to go back again!

Really Lovely Historic Property

Strestbad on 06/11/2017 01:21

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Princess Anne. The staff was so warm and inviting and we loved the special touches - the wonderful breakfasts, cookies, tea and coffee in the activity room and the wine and hors d'oeuvres in the afternoons. We loved the quaint charm of both the inn and the area. Overall, a wonderful experience!
