A good hotel with nice rooms and good amenities.
Does not however have much character or warmth, you get the same vibe from the staff that although friendly seem insincere. The hotel and rooms are cold in winter so make sure the room you get has a functioning air con.
Not very central though unless you have business or social in the area. As a result if it is not full, the dining options are minimized in terms of variety, quality and diversity.
Overall average nothing spectacular either way

Pleasant hotel with friendly staff, however atmosphere quite cold. They did do their best to accomodate special requests. Buffet is excellent. Fine for business travel. Not sure if I would consider for leisure

We stayed at the Hotel for the weekend 20 - 21 of May for a Mountain bike event at The Cascades. The Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We requested a early check in which was not a problem. The room was clean with everything you expect from a hotel. We have ordered room service which was nice and quick.

This Hotel is in desperate need of Love.
It is extremely "drab and practical" the decorators have made a right mess of the decor. It could have been fabulous, instead its cheap and bland looking.
Service is casual, and lacking, particularly the desk staff.
Breakfast is not great, poor quality and slow.
Rooms are comfortable and clean, bathrooms are ok, no baths, and rusty windows that dont close.
A good three star at best.

Our Friday to Sunday stay was overall a good one. The roaring fires made the freezing weather more bearable. The hotel was fully booked and we were advised we would only be able to check in at 2pm - which is standard. But when we returned at 2pm our rooms were still not ready and we were not advised when they were ready (as promised), resulting in us checking in very late in the afternoon/early evening. The rooms are lovely (a shower and a bathtub), with a proper separate desk. Colleagues staying in rooms on the road side of the building could hear traffic and a colleague with the room closest to reception had problems sleeping due to noise throughout the night. My room was the pool side and was relatively peaceful. One colleague could not get their aircon working (heater setting) to offset the chill but the warm bedding compensated. If I am nitpicking I would have appreciated a dustbin in the bathroom (for ladies) and a box of tissues. But overall, it was a lovely, hardworking weekend with our time off spent around the huge fireplaces debating life.
