Booked a Superior King Room with Spa Bath and City View in the Pullman Reef Hotel and Casino. The room was very spacious with a big bathroom including separate walk in shower, his and hers sinks and a spa bath. It also had a small balcony looking out over the city and the cruise liner terminal. The room also came with complimentary drinks (two beers and 1 wine) in the mini bar and a house drink in the bar in the evening.
The staff were friendly and efficient and always able to help. The reception and concierge staff were very good when we needed taxis booking. We used the pool deck which was nice. The breakfast we had at the hotel was very good and you could either choose from the menu or take from the Breakfast Buffet. The selction on the buffet was good but I would have preferred a bit more variety. We also ate in the Chinese restaurant in the hotel which was very good. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel but it was pleasant enough when we did.
The hotel was only a few minutes walk away from the Reef Ferry Terminal which was good for the trips to the Great Barrier Reef. It was also close to a number of restaurants in the marina which were nice.
I would definitely book this hotel again if we were in Cairns.

We choose this hotel because is very closed to the reef casino,the staff are Kind and friendly,they have delicious breakfast,from our room the river and ocean view was very nice maybe we would like came back soon.

Having a Christmas party in one of the function rooms at the casino is a great choice. It is central to everything from other venues and accommodations options for our out of towners. Food was tasty, drinks had a reasonable choice for a off location bar though a bit slow. Music was varied and a good choice, too loud to have a conversation.

I was warmly welcomed back and even given a complimentary upgrade.
The room I was in needed a refurb. It’s tired and things have started to break and not fit correctly - like cupboard doors!
Tamarind Restaurant is amazing. They serve awesome meals. Breakfast is a pleasure there also.
My experience on check out wasn’t as impressive. On checking out I was presented with charges for my upgrade - which had been offered to me on check in as complimentary. We had a discussion and the charges were removed from the Bill.

My first visit to Cairns and it won't be my last as there is so much to see and do. This hotel is perfectly located for all trips to the reef and rainforest and I had a high room with a view of the inlet. Close by is the esplanade and the marina.The room was light, spacious and extremely comfortable. It has a very distinctive feel. All the amenities you need are close to hand and the staff are impeccable and friendly and added value to my experience. I enjoyed the pool area, which was clean and comfortable. Made use of the excellent nearby Tamarind restaurant for an excellent breakfast and had an amazing dinner there too. Thank you all - will definitely return.
