Visited Nov 9-16th for my 50th birthday and loved every minute!
Our first trip to the Dominican and won't be our last.
It is the rainy season so there was heavy rain most nights (don't pick a top floor room if you don't want to hear the rain and be slightly warmer due to the vaulted ceilings-personally we loved it). Otherwise weather around 28 degrees most days with some cloud on and off.
Favourite staff (generally all are outstanding) include:
-Reynaldo at front desk
-Jose on the beach
-Yazmine in entertainment
-Quellvin at Mare Norstom bar
-Lucy (maid) and other maid who decorated my room for my birthday
-Ariel and chef Manuel who served my birthday dinner on the beach and danced with me
-Roaming guitarists (😘😘😘)
Favourite memories:
-Relaxing atmosphere
-gorgeous and safe beach to walk and swim
-VIP sun beds
-room proximity to beach (we only swam in the pool once-although very beautiful pool and fun activities)
-quiet breakfasts by the beach
-private dinner on the beach
-roaming guitarists
-archery
-beautiful clean and comfy room
-trolley at night to Carribbe (sister hotel)
-dance party in the lobby after the beach party was rained out

Cons-only one-but it's a biggie...
The bus transfer in both directions took over an hour (we timed it) due to being the final stop in the resort chain, and waiting for straggling travellers. If there was a safe taxi option ( our first time there so unsure) we would have paid for the convenience.
PS- to all the people who complain about the seaweed and harassing vendors...
-some days the ocean spews up seaweed and some days it doesn't. The men work non stop to clear it away- get over it or go to the pool.
And as far as vendors go, a simple polite "no gracias" will send them away, and then they remember you and don't bother you again. Not even acknowledging them is rude in our opinion.
Great resort- highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at the PCP the first week in November. The resort is small & very easy to navigate. It is starting to look a little run down & is in need of some updates / renos. Room was clean & comfortable - air conditioning worked great. No hot water for our first 2 days tho.
A la cartes were amazing! The Italian was our favourite with La Petite Fondue coming in second. We also went to one of the sister resorts for a Mexican meal - the fajitas were delicious! The buffet had plenty of choices & I could always find something to eat.
Customer service was hit & miss. Some staff were super friendly and others couldn't be bothered to say two words to you.
We spent most of our time by the pool, which could have been a bit cleaner. We were always hounded by the guys who ran the little hut pool side. It really gets annoying day after day of them hollering "hey Canada, come on over and have a look!" Didn't have an issue finding loungers our first 3 days, and then the "towel game" started. The beach was nice, water looked to be very rough - we never got in it.
No idea about nightly entertainment, as we were normally whipped after dinner and went straight to bed!
Overall, the resort was average, I wouldn't rush back until there was an amazing deal.

Our 7th time to this fabulous gem in 3 1/2 years and we have found our home away from home!
The room was PERFECT and even though the weather did not cooperate we STILL HAD A blast!
A special, special thank you to Alexander who always makes our trip fantastic. And to our dear "King" (Reynaldo) who makes us feel right at home who also remembers us very time!. And to our lovable Raysa who always has a smile on her face and remembers us every time we are there. Raul, the Food and Beverage Manager went out of his way to make us feel fantastic..............thank you.
I also want to mention an "unsung" hero of the resort who in my mind works his butt off every day to make sure the pool is in pristine condition................JUAN. Thank you for your smiles every morning and the good job you do.
FOOD..........wonderful...............ROOM.............fabulous....SERVICE.......best as always! Thanks to the ENTIRE staff for being SO nice!
Booked for May 5th of next year already and can't wait to come back!

Hi all
Just got back from a week at the Punta Cana Princess. Reason I am calling my Title Alexander the great is because there is a staff member there that is named Alexander and he was just a amazing human being. He went beyond his duties. The resort itself is small . The rooms were cozy and the staff were all amazing. The food was fantastic as well. The beach was just stunning. I did not eat at Al La Carte restaurants at all.
I want to warn all travellers that on my departure at the airport, I was called in to open my check in bag. I had over $200.00 worth of vapers in my bag in which was confiscated because they said they weren't allowed on the plane. I was in Punta Cana the year before and was allowed and brought them both home. They stole the vapors from me. They also took my coils in which are need in order from my vapers to work. I asked them for the report on why they were confiscated and they refused to give me this as well as their names. You ask why I know they stole these. Well, on my return back to the gate in the smoking area where a few people vaping. So if they weren't allowed then why only me? For this reason I will never return to the Dominican. I don't need to spend money for a vacation and then get robbed at the same time. If you plan to go, keep your valuables at home. As far as I am concerned the staff at the Punta Cana airports are all thieves.

This is a smaller resort with more mature vacationers. It was an easy walk to the pool, beach, restaurants, and bars. We appreciated the quieter atmosphere. This is definitely not the place for you if you are looking for a non stop party atmosphere. The food was good. It was nice to be able to use any of the on site restaurants without a reservation. If you wish to go next door to the sister resorts restaurants you do need a reservation. We did do this and the food was very good. Our room was clean, comfortable and overlooked the pool and had a small ocean view. There was a bottle of rum and a box of cigars in the room, along with a mini bar stocked with Budweiser beer, Coke, Sprite and water. The most enjoyable part of this trip was the staff. Alfonso, Jorge, Alexander, we all wonderful. Our favorite, Darvin at the pool bar made our day. We would definitely go back to this resort.
