sewage smell to bug infestaion

Just got home from a three stay here. I've stayed several times at this hotel, but it not be maintained. We were sharing stories with other people staying there, most had some sort of bug problem, while others had sewage back up into their sink. Our room had a terrible odor of sewage, the bed was ridiculously squeaky, not once in the three days we were there was our bed ever made up. The pool area is a disgrace, most the deck furniture is broken and pile up together with caution tape wrapped around it. As much as I love the location I will not stay here again.

Health Hazard - Stay Away

I was unfortunate enough to stay here, worst hotel experience of my life. The police showed up twice during the night for some kind of raid. Phone in my room didn't work, was told they have not worked for years. I saw rat droppings under the counter where breakfast food is put out, decided to leave immediately. For the nice location on the waterfront, I expected something with a little class.

Served Its Purpose

I stayed here to take advantage of the nightlife in Punta Gorda and to be able to do the PG Pub Crawl. This hotel is located within walking distance of some very fun restaurants and bars. The hotel itself and the public areas were pretty old and run down, however my room and bathroom were very nice and it had a beautiful waterfront view from the 1st floor patio. The hotel is attached to Hurricaine Charley’s which is a fun place. All in all this room served its purpose and provided a comfortable place to spend the night.

First night no hot water. Went to front desk, because no phone in room, and she said sorry, no maintenence working to night. Really! Next morning, I hear toilet running and agin had to walk down to front desk to tell them about it. Only snack machines in hotel were out of order so I guess after a night of Hurricane Charlies, they want you to drink and drive.

We paid a little more than we could have to stay in a "nice" hotel for the last night of our sw florida vacation. A positive was we were very pleasantly surprised by the good quality of area attractions and eateries. But as for the hotel, not so much. First, the front desk staff seemed apathetic and none too friendly. We had to @rrive early at around 10 am. One of our party wasnnt feeling well, so we went ahead and tried to check in. We were told that although several rooms had been checked out, none were ready. Rather than check us in, the clerk told us it would be about an hour and took our cell phone #. We went to Fishermens village and had lunch (nice) . No call, so we went back to front desk to check, and were abruptly told that since check in time is 3, our room will be ready by then. At 2:45 we finally get the call and are allowed to check in.

Suite was smallish. Tiny bathroom with less counter space than we had ever seen. No towel bars or anyplace to hang towels afyer showering. No bath tub. Some bugs in room. Tv remote missing. Not enough pillows fo a king size bed. We were going to call for more, but the phone was dead. Decided to watch tv, but the remote was missing. Decided to read in bed, but both reading ceiling lights were burned out. Other than a decent mattress and relative cleanliness, we cannot rate this hotel highly. Add to it the less than friendly front desk people, we think you might want to go elsewhere.
