I booked here 1night for about 9dollars which was very cheap. It was the best choice! Very clean. Very tidy. Very kind. Staff can speak fundamental english as well. They asked to pay deposit money 100yuan. Hot water and heater were available. Everything was perfect except tv(no signal). I recommend here strongly!!!!

International travelers be aware, unless you are looking for punishment, don't come to this inn. It's way substandard in their services and provisions. There are other hotels in similar price range that will provide bigger towels as well as standard shampoo, bath liquid, and bar soaps. You will have to bring your own if you come to this hotel. People running this hotel have not been adequately trained in basic hotel services.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is pretty good but the room itself was filthy dirty and the bathroom in our queen size room was like something from a horror movie. The sink was broken and leaked everywhere, cracked dirty tiles and so on. The photographs here are extremely misleading as are the ratings (Other than David's recent review below). We booked this room for the second half of a one week trip to Qingdao during the October holiday and I wish we had stayed in our first hotel out of town which was only marginally more expensive and infinitely better.
The lesson learnt for me is to make sure i can read reviews and not just rely on ratings in the future.

Having seen good reviews for this hostel we decided to spend a few nights during the October holiday. We booked using Ctrip which in hindsight was a mistake. The prices were inflated and therefore the value for money was hit instantly. We came as a group and stayed in different rooms. We had booked a Queen Room but were 'upgraded' to the family room instead. The double bed was hard and small and the bathroom was very dirty. Not worth 200 RMB a night! The staff were friendly but didn't speak English. The pool table round the back was in a filthy room which was a shame as the table itself was excellent. Four of our friends were due to stay in twin rooms but opted for a different hostel due to the dirtiness of their rooms. To its credit, the hostel gave them their money back. At cheap prices this hostel is probably worth it. However I would choose the Kaiyue without doubt. There is no food offered at the hostel although there are places to eat nearby.
