Centrally located hotel, good value
Texas77098on 19/09/2017 18:29We had a lovely room with a view overlooking the Rue de la Republique. The hotel was easy walking distance to the Cathedrale Ste Croix and other sites as well as restaurants and shopping. Bonus: they are also pet friendly (we had our small dog with us). The room itself was recently renovated and nice. The bathroom was a bit small, but the shower was hot with good water pressure. Overall, this was a good choice for our one night in Orleans.
Hotel in the Center of Orleans
Rosario Con 29/05/2017 22:29The location of the hotel is perfect. It is located right on the shopping street & walking distance to everywhere you wanted to see like the cathedral & the museums. The hotel itself is very clean and the room we had is big enough for two & so with the bathroom. The only thing that's not positive to me is the noice from the footsteps of the guests upstairs your room. You can hear them walking (the floor makes noice). The breakfast is not bad. It's good enough for the price. There's a fresh orange juice though you squeeze it yourself you know it's fresh & that makes the breakfast good.
Could have been a lot better ..
deneyerkon 16/08/2016 14:23This hotel is transforming from Quality Hotel to a Campanile. Our room was booked via a third party (Bongo.be).
Last year we had a pleasant stay at the same hotel. This year, was a lot less pleasant.
Our room underwent a refresh with new paint and new furniture (bed, study, ..).
Bed was very good and the refresh seemed to be a succes if it wasn't for the very irritating smell of the fresly painted room. Such a room shoudn't be allowed to be booked by paid customers or even for free. It's ok to do transformations to your hotel but not at all costs. Close a wing or do not put the room for hire while undergoing renovation.
When a confronted the desk clerk with our situation the only response i got was: we are fully booked. No room change possible.
Even when taking into account this was a temporary state (the smell wil disappear eventually) i was not very please with my stay at this otherwise fine hotel.
Breakfast was a little bit more basic but everything was just fine.
Just awful
sonianukon 26/04/2016 22:46This is the sort of hotel that makes your heart sink when you're in a city as beautiful as Orleans. It shouldn't matter overall but it's just so bad, I am writing a review.
I'm lying in a bed of this hotel as I type. My head is at a right angle to the bed because it is made from a synthetic material that keeps it as puffed as a balloon and just as squeaky.
The back of my throat has that chemical taste that comes from a room that has been doused in fabric deodoriser to cover up an odour.
The fit-out was last done in the early 1980s. You know the type. The sort of place you see on real estate ad pages and it says "Major renovation opportunity".
I won't both to go into details but I'm looking at the featureless ceiling with a cornice that was stuck on with glue. In the corners are weird stains. I don't want to get to close. The bathroom is like stepping back in time. A time when no one ever wanted to see the drain pipe from the toilet.
In keeping with the plastic pillows, the rest of the decor is also synthetic. The curtains smell. The single towel is good although the soap is so cheap, it doesn't actually wash off your skin. It sort of stays on a bit slippery.
The final flourish is the noise. You can hear everything. The staff are friendly although there is absolutely no reason to photocopy our identification as if we're due to be taken off to prison.
Yet that's exactly where I feel like am. I can't wait to leave tomorrow and get this taste out of my mouth.
Never stay here, no matter how desperate you are.
Great location and great service.
TheWanderingCanuckson 18/01/2016 17:40The staff was very helpful, and this is the perfect spot to explore Orleans from. a quick walk from the train station, cross the street from a mall with a great grocery store to try some of the local food from. Right in the heart of the city with so many cute shops and restaurants to try. The rooms can be a bit small compared to North American standards but very comfortable.
