Small things add up!

I hate, hate, hate, having to leave a 2 star review. However, all the small things add up! Starting with when you walk in, hotel appears nice and clean, smelled clean. When you walk down the hallway, you can tell it's in desperate need of updates. Get to the room, which is clean. But there are small things wrong; broken lamp shades, torn curtain, burn holes in the blankets, not enough towels for 4 people, no extra blanket and pillow, broke chair. The beds were comfortable and linens clean. Fridge, microwave, coffee pot, etc were all clean. Carpets needed cleaned. Now let's move on to the environment. I'm sure this hotel gets a lot of travelers. The pool area, ugh, was tiny. Not to mention this seems to be a "party" area for the day laborers. Now. These men that gathered by the pool both nights we were there, were courteous and quiet. However, they were sitting down there drinking and smoking by the door. Again, they were not being rude or disrespectful. My son found 2 beer bottle caps and a lighter in the pool. The pool is only about 4 foot deep at its deepest. Front desk clerks on both nights and days are pleasant and helpful. However, another guest was complaining about the cleaning of the rooms and how the doors were left propped open, she also claimed she had roaches in her microwave. I do not know if this is true or not as I didn't find any roach evidence in our room. The front desk people didn't seem to mind her complaints as she didn't get an apology or anything so, I don't know. Take it how you want it. For the price, we were only there 2 nights, and we spent most of our time away from the hotel, it was "ok". I did remove all our expensive items when we left during the day, just to prevent any problems. I didn't trust the staff wouldn't clean our room, despite being told not to, and didn't want to chance it. Best wishes.
Stay Could have been better

Our stay here overall was pleasant and comfortable. The room was clean although had a slight musty smell until we had the air running for awhile which was off when we entered the room. Unlike several of the other reviews of this Inn we did not have issues with the bathroom or furnishings. The bed was comfortable and was nice to have a recliner in the room, which is a rare thing in hotels in my experience. Was very quiet even though one night the place was fairly full of people staying there. We spend 4 nights there due to issues with our home AC and having to wait for repair. Have stayed in much worse places and much better places over the years than this Inn. Only issues we had was we had to go down every one of the 4 days to have our room key cards re-activated as they always stopped working after 11am. The other issue was if you are wanting a good breakfast you had better plan on going across the street to the restaurant to eat. The selection here is very minimal. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful.

"What a dump!" The only nice thing I can say about the place is that there was a friendly young man at the front desk to check us in. We should have known we were in for trouble when he told us that we may have to let the water run for at least 10 minutes till the hot water arrived! It was all downhill from there. Lampshades in the room were cracked and split. One light over the vanity was out. The comforter had 3 burn holes in it. The recliner should have been put out at the curb for garbage pick-up years ago. I could go on, but you get the picture. Also, there are two signs regarding smoking: one on the building outside states that you must be so many feet away from the building to smoke; in the lobby there is another sign that states the building is non-smoking. When I doubled checked about our room (before seeing the signs) I was told that there were still a few rooms upstairs where smoking was allowed. These rooms were for customers who frequented the hotel on a regular basis. Whaaaaat? Oh, BTW, the elevator doesn't work.
The rates are below average, but unfortunately, so is the hotel. You get what you pay for, I guess. This was the worst hotel ever for us. If you do book, be sure and have them show you the room before you settle the deal.
Horrible Experience!!

I made a reservation in advance. Called the day before to request an early Check in and was told "no problem your room will be ready at 12:30. Got there around 2:00 and was told the room was not ready, come back in 45 - 50 mins. Came back room was still not ready. Wasn't able to check in till 3:41. There were no towels for the pool, went to the front desk and was handed bath mats. Vending machines were out of order and had no signs posted on them. When you went to the front desk, they simpley said "oh they are broken" no offering of a refund. Very out dated and under staffed. Would NEVER STAY AGAIN!
Needs some TLC and attention to detail

The staff was great and very helpful. The room, Rm 114, needed some TLC. The wifi was out on our second day. The desk clerk said she called Cox but ............ The internet was out for at least 8 hours. The window curtain had a slash about 2 or 3 inches long. One of the outlets had the lamp, TV, microwave, refrigerator with an open plug for my laptop and it was not securely attached to the wall. With the arrangement of the room, there isn't much choice but it doesn't look good. The bathroom door needs wall paint removed and paint chips repainted. The caulk around the shower looks like it was the unpaintable type as the paint didn't stick to it making it look unfinished. The room was clean. Housekeeping did a good job.
