Good hotel just to sleep at
EvanandAmandaon 10/11/2017 15:37The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. All in all a good motel to sleep at. Take it in the summer time would be better because the pool is closed this time of year because of winter. Staff was fairly friendly , breaker at was at least hot biscuits and good gravy , waffles you make your own, then the typical hotel muffins and such.
Ok hotel just to sleep
francoiscZ692SHon 17/10/2017 13:40We ended up in this hotel as none other were available. This hotel needs some refurbishment. Bed are very good but rest is outdated. For the price it is a good deal. Breakfast is ok with several choices.
Big Bugs in Bathroom
LexiMLHon 10/10/2017 14:03I stayed at this property 10/9 - 10/10. I'm sad I even have to write a less than 5 star review because the agent that checked me in around 10:40pm was amazing. Super friendly and very polite. My first room, 109, had a toilet that wouldn't flush. I took the back lid off to see if I could just reach my hand down into the water to lift the chain but there was no water at all. Not to mention, the room smelled like someone had recently smoked in it.
The agent got me into 111 with the quickness. Unfortunately in the bathroom there were two 1 inch black bugs on their backs on the floor near the toilet and tub. At first I thought they were dead. But after looking at them the legs started moving so I crushed them and kept it moving. They were not roaches or water bugs. Almost more like beetles. I couldn't figure out where the bugs were coming from but I didn't want to take any changes with the drain so I didn't use the shower at all. Gross I know but had a bug come out when I was showering, I would've lost it.
The bed itself was very comfortable and clean. I completely stripped the bed to check for bedbugs and there was nothing, so there's a plus! Also he breakfast was pretty good also. First place I've ever had Apple Cinnamon waffles. No hotel is perfect and most of the time I won't even complain if I see a bug (meaning ant or spider) here or there. But the fact that there were multiple big beetles in the bathroom may be a deal breaker for other potential stayers.
Overpriced and Old
20runneron 04/10/2017 00:13My family and I booked three rooms at this location during a recent family reunion. This was the only motel in the area that had the required rooms available due to several events that were scheduled for the weekend. My first thought was that the price was competitive with surrounding properties. After looking over the competition, this is the most run down of the Culpeper motels. Don't get me wrong: everything was reasonably clean, and everything in the room worked. It's just run down. Fortunately, the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was impressive--lots of choices, hot and cold, and well-supplied. If the price had been $20 cheaper than the others in the area, I would not be complaining about anything. But, under no circumstances is this property worth the going rate on an event weekend. Never again.
Overnight Stay
Tann2tuckon 30/09/2017 00:55I stayed here while in Culpeper for a conference. Check-in was easy. For an older hotel, the room was clean. The bed was comfortable. There was a mini-fridge and a microwave in the room. The television worked great, and the wifi picked up consistently.
