We stayed at basecamp boulder this past weekend. The hotel (and every other in the area) were at capacity due to a CU game, so most of the negative experiences we had were due to overcrowding and not really the hotel's fault. Overall, a great stay. We would probably choose to stay even closer to Pearl St. in the future, but would definitely stay here again in a pinch.
The good:
-location is awesome! just a 10-15 minute walk to Pearl St or CU
-cool "outdoor" themed decor, including a coleman ice chest instead of a mini-fridge and lantern lights helped take away the "motel-y" feel
-awesome communal area with fire pit, hot tub, ping pong and laundry
the bad:
-thin walls: we were on the end unit by the road and could hear cars driving by all night
-limited parking due to CU game weekend. We came back late on friday night and had a very tough time finding a spot to park

Great service, Friendly, cool, and cozy. We stayed 1 quick night without time to really explore what they had to offer. cool coffee and beer bar in lobby. loved the decor. affordable for a night in boulder. everyhting in the area is super pricey. this was mid range. We would def go back.

My friend and I stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved everything about it. The shower was amazing, especially after a long cold hike! I will definitely stay here again! The staff was super friendly and helpful.

I will start off that the hotel is advertised correctly - it's a remodeled motel. That said, it is a remodeled motel. I realize the architecture is what it is from before, so that meets expectations. The decor is hip and cute and where I was expecting more of a 'wow factor,' but I found quite a few things in my room to be a bit 'well used' shall we say - coat hanger is loose and falling out of the wall, shower has mold in the grout. The lighting is a bit utilitarian (aka, really bright) and the toilet has handicap accommodation, which I've never seen before in a hotel room - it makes me feel like I'm in a hospital. If the remodel plan was to 're-model,' my expectation was that the finishes have all been seriously updated and spic and span clean if you're going to charge hotel prices for a motel room.
I also would consider that motel rooms mean motel room windows - anyone walking by can look right in. So, to get some privacy I pulled the shades on the one window, and sadly was sitting in a dark room in beautiful Boulder Colorado while the sun was shining outside. My room is also unfortunately located right next to the janitors/housekeeping room - meaning lots of people going by, and in-and-out of that room, rustling things and generally making some level of noise - not terribly loud, but it is agitating. Top that off with being able to hear the person upstairs from me walking around like when you're in an old apartment building - again, I realize this was pre-existing architecture, but it's not the relaxing experience I had in mind.
The folks that work here are VERY nice, so 5 stars for customer service, it's just not the place for me (I'm someone who prefers a little more comfort and cozy and feeling pampered when I'm away from home :)
Glad I tried it, but I will be staying someone more upscale for my next Boulder work trip.

Great place to stay in Boulder! Love that it’s not your typical cookie-cutter hotel chain. Very “campy-millennial”. New rooms w/ neat motif, sauna, hot tub, rock climbing wall, latte’s, fresh oatmeal, near everything!
