Great Location for Bar Harbor & Acadia!

We stayed here for three nights over the 4th of July weekend, traveling with two adults and a toddler. Overall, it was a really good stay.
If walking or stairs present a challenge for you, you should be aware that these are all over the place. The hotel is somewhat sprawled out, so we were in a side building that required a short walk to get to the front office. Our room was on a hill, so it also required walking up a hill and some stairs to get to our room. There are no elevators.
Breakfast was located in a building across the street. It was very good, with a lot of different choices. The people working there were also really nice. The pool was located on an upper level, so walking up stairs is required to get to that as well.
The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from downtown Bar Harbor, and also near one of the entrances to Acadia NP. It was also a great location for watching the 4th of July parade.
Our room was a little tight on space, but had plenty of towels and hot water. The sheets were a bit rough, if that is something you care about. We had a room with a kitchenette, and this was a great feature to have. It included a small stove, fridge, sink, and microwave, as well as plates and utensils.
The end of the hotel where we were staying had a bulldozer parked on the lawn and several holes dug. It appears that they are doing some kind of reconstruction work.
Older hotel, but very clean and walking distance to just about everything

The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. We came to hike in Acadia National Park. They helped answer questions and give us maps and tips, etc. Short drive to the park from here. The room was small, but we were gone most of the time anyway. Bright lights in the room, excellent water pressure for showers, the tub drained (I hate it when you have to stand in ankle deep water), and water was instantly hot. The bed was comfy and room was clean. There were mints in our room upon check in! Nice! Note: there is no elevator for you if you stay on the 2nd floor. For breakfast, you walk across the street to a whole separate building designed just for the Quality free breakfasts! There is a ton of food and some items change each day and beside the tables and chairs there's a couch with a little sitting area also - was like you were walking into a restaurant and the lady running it in the am was SO very nice......You are in walking distance of the town, only drawback was since it's late fall, half the places are shut down for the season and it's pitch dark at 5:30. The BEST place to eat is the West Street Café.
The only negative of this Quality Inn: a tour bus arrived about 10 PM one night and the bus was sitting there at the front door running till 11:15 and all that time the fumes from the bus were coming in through our air/heat unit in the wall (since we had a unit by the front)
Great hotel walking distance to town center

The rooms were a little small but it met our needs. Staff is great and helpful and the free breakfast in the morning was a nice touch. There were plenty of options for breakfast. Eggs, breakfast meats, fresh waffles were among the items offered. Coffee machine available in the main lobby for complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day. Plentiful parking spaces on property and a easy walk to town Center makes it easy for a car free weekend. In the town square/commons there is free shuttles that will take you to popular sites in and around Acadia National Park. Just remember to get updated bus schedules. Will definitely stay again next time I’m in Bar Harbor. Only reason why I took off a star is the rooms are a little dated.
Nice older hotel

We were pleased, but nothing fancy or out of the ordinary Place is showing its age, but it wasn't far from town, although we drove to town vs walked. Breakfast was typical, nothing special and nothing location ( blueberries).
Very pleased with our stay.

My husband, 2 adult sons, and myself stayed here for 3 nights when we visited Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The entire front desk staff was great; their friendliness was genuine, and they answered questions with a smile. I had requested a "quiet" location for our room, and they delivered; it was greatly appreciated by me (being a light sleeper). While the rooms are not huge, they were large enough for us. We had 2 queen beds, plenty of room for our luggage, and the bathroom was sufficient for our needs. The morning breakfast was great; we had plenty of choices (eggs, meat, fruit, pastries, breads, juices, milk, coffee, make-your-own waffles, etc); there was always plenty of food available. The location was about 1/2 mile from the main downtown street. The walk was easy and pleasant. Even though the hotel was not located on the water or directly down-town, the money we saved was worth it; plus, we got exercise walking to the shops. The on-site laundry was wonderful. The detergent was provided (a huge thanks for this!). The machines are large; I thought I would need to use 2 machines, but 1 was plenty for both washing and drying. Should we return to Bar Harbor, this hotel will be our first choice!
