What People are saying

Quality Inn delivered an excellent product in a difficult time!

Christopher Hon 08/11/2017 01:06

My wife and I were travelling to the Kannapolis, NC, area to visit family and made the unfortunate decision to book a room in a horrible, nasty, disgusting motel (Motel 6, I'm looking at you). When we refused to stay in the only room they available, we started looking for another hotel or motel in the area. Due to other events going on in the area, there was -- literally -- nothing else available in Concord, Kannapolis, or even Salisbury. I eventually called the Quality Inn in Lexington around 2 am and spoke to a very nice man (Jeff). Yes, they had a room available, and yes, he would hold it for us while we drove the additional 30 miles to Lexington.

When we arrived, Jeff got us checked into our room very efficiently. He also dropped the price for us due to the late hour and our predicament. The rate he gave us ended up being below the AAA rate!

We found our room and were extremely happy with it. The air conditioning worked well. The bathroom's plumbing was all in good repair and there was plenty of hot water with good water pressure. The shower head was also clean and delivered a good, steady stream of water, and it adjusted easily from a gentle shower to an invigorating shower-massage. The bed was very comfortable and had good linens (not worn thin or dingy) on it. The room smelled clean. The bathroom floor even passed my "wet towel shuffle" test -- I splashed a bit of water on the floor, dropped one of the towels on it, then shuffled the towel around with my feet to the various corners of the tile floor...and the towel came up clean!

We slept quite well, but woke up in time to shower and then get some (included in the room's price) breakfast from the breakfast room. It was tasty, standard hotel food -- make-your-own fresh waffles, steam-table eggs, sausage, biscuits, and gravy, and various bulk-purchased muffins and cereal. They didn't have any fruit available our first morning there, but bananas and apples were available the other mornings.

After breakfast, I stopped by the front counter to compliment Jeff from the night before. I ended up talking to the owner/manager for several minutes and decided that we would spend the rest of our weekend at the hotel. The owner graciously booked the two additional rooms at the price Jeff had quoted for our first late-night stay!

My wife and I joked about how we must have been the only people on the third floor of the hotel because it was so quiet! I am sure others were there, however, as the housekeeping staff was busy getting rooms cleaned by 8 am...

I have only two concerns about the property:

First, the "security door" on the far end of the building didn't ever lock. The desk clerk I mentioned it to said that the door hasn't locked "for a while," but pointed out the security cameras that record everyone entering and exiting. Personally, I'd rather keep the riff-raff out and not have to worry about identifying them later from video.

Second, the elevator is on the far end of the building from the parking lot entrance, meaning that if you come in from the parking lot and want to use the elevator, you have to walk past all of the smoking rooms to get to the elevator. I ended up dropping my wife off at the front entrance each time so she wouldn't have to smell the cigarette smoke from those rooms.

So... great people running a clean and well-maintained property, and willing to help out folks who weren't having a great night... that is well worth driving an extra few miles!

We'll keep this hotel on our radar when we head back to North Carolina!

Worst place to stay

This place is right off of 85 and we went to check in the manager was sitting in a chair reading the paper unaware that we walked in. After we checked in and walking to our room the hotel is still upgrading. After we get to our room the bed is hard and the Jacuzzi was suppose to seat 2 people (maybe 2 kids) but 2 adults. The fire alarm goes off at 12:45 am and no one was told to evacuate. We heard the alarm and some decided to go down on our own. The manager tried to turn off the alarm and when it would not turn off he called the owners and the owners told him to call 911. It took about an hour before we were told that it was safe to go back in. Not everybody was told to evacuate, some were still in their rooms. None of us received a discount for our trouble. The breakfast was terrible. WILL NOT STAY THERE AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY. Go book a room at the holiday inn at the vineyard. It has a better view.

Quiet, clean, and comfortable

Quality Inns must be upgrading their properties, because this place is better than we remember previous ones from years ago. The lobby, hall, and room were very clean, smelled fresh. Bed was comfortable. Staff was accomodating. Quieter than many chain hotels, since it is not on the highway..Close to a small mall, near a few restaurants, including a Golden Corral. Very reasonably priced.

Good place to stay in Lexington,NC

The hotel was as nice as any of the hotels that we have stayed at in the Choice Hotels group at a moderate price. The room was clean and newly renovated. The staff was friendly,at the front desk. The location was by a strip mall with an Applebees Restaurant close by. The breakfast was good the first day, but the second day all the containers were empty, that day the staff was invisable. The 3rd day there she was there but very slow to fill the containers and clean up the tables. The food was ok when it was there. But as the breakfast was included with the stay I didn't see any reason to complain.
