Pre-booked evening meal in the hotels Sweet Olives Restaurant because according to the hotels website it is "One of the areas finest fresh food restaurants" unfortunately my meal was not cooked and the garlic bread was burnt so was returned uneaten. I have written to the hotel "I ordered the Cannelloni, the pasta was not cooked and the “sauce” was just Tomato Puree which was poured on top the “garlic bread” was burnt – see attached photo. I suggested that with Cannelloni stuffed with feta cheese that a béchamel sauce should have been used rather than Tomato Puree" The managers response was "Being part Italian myself, we never put béchamel sauce on cannelloni, as we try to keep it the authentic Italian way." Unfortunately no comment on Tomato Puree, the burnt garlic bread or the photograph. Arriving on a hot day the bedroom room was exceptionally hot even with a fan on plus the window and room door open it was still hot. Obviously it is not ideal to keep the door open to cool the room down. The whole of the "new block" needed aircon. limited parking at the rear of the property otherwise it is off road parking.

Don't waste tour money

Had a weekend event to go to not far from here so Hotel was booked and paid for a few months ago.
Rooms and breakfast large group booking.
Ground floor they try and keep tidy and clean but once you got through doors to rooms then you notice the dirt.
The doors all had dirty hand marks, obviously hadn't been cleaned for months.
The carpet throughout had terrible stains all over and should have been replaced years ago.
Rooms not great, tea and coffee facilities but no cups.
In the bathroom you had to keep the plugs in sinks otherwise you had sewage smell come through. If you forgot to shut the door it would go into main room.
Staff did not seem to know what they were doing ask one something and you would get totally different answer to another. You will find them sitting in restaurant area playing on their laptops or chatting about getting their hair done. Not helping the customers.
Food was horrible, greasy, no flavour, very overpriced for very small amounts. You had to wait a very long time to be served even though there was hardly anyone eating. If you pay by card staff have to keep running off out to reception to try and find card machine. A hotel that size should have more than one machine.
Take note of prices as they tried to overcharge people twice in one mealtime. They try and charge different prices than those on the menu.
On final day we were told we couldn't have breakfast. They tried to make out it hadn't been paid for and we would have to pay another £15 per person if we sat and ate breakfast. Although this was sorted later after the whole group had got together. It should not have happened in the first place.
Car park very small for size of hotel, only about fifteen bays. No parking permits were allocated for local roads so if you can't get parked you have to find the closest public car park then walk. Closest about 1/2 mile away.
On a previous review dated 24/11/2016 the person mentions the aggravating flickering light in restaurant. Nearly a year later that light is exactly the same.
Definitely will not be going back.

Good location, good Hotel

I stayed for 4 nights on business in a double room which was well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a good shower and bath.
Breakfast was pretty good if not a great choice of items, and service was efficient and friendly.
The evening meals were very good, the one steak I had was about the best I have had!

Comfortable room and thats about all

The room was clean and comfortable but a little small the view from the window was a brick wall Bath room was very small with a clockroom sink. We decide to book in for dinner at the hotel . thats when the cracks began to show . We book for an early Dinner at 17:00 because we where going to a famliy fuction just up the road. The restaurant did not open on time
we waitied almost 15 mins before anyone came and asked us if we would like a drink . We asked for a glass white wine which seemed to be a problem as they could not find a bottle of white wine . The only bottle they had was warm .so we opted for water which came from a the tap again luke warm. The food was only cheap pub standard As for Breakfast We gave up on that and went to the Motorway services .
Very Poor service all round . The only prase i have is for the night porter who found us some de cafe coffee when we got back late in the evening .

Fantastic service

Stayed here with friends recently and felt compelled to review. The small, hard working team went the extra mile with their customer service, even the night porter came outside when he saw us ladies returning from our evening's dancing at 3am during our dance weekend. Also suggested alternative safe parking locally on one evening as car park was full. All of the receptionists were efficient and friendly and the waiting staff were brilliant despite there being a sudden rush of customers at dinner and breakfast. The food was of a very good standard too.

We'd definitely return.
