Very average

We stayed at the quest as we'd had a sudden death in the family and we needed to be close to the retirement village Waitakere gardens. This is right next door. So location was our only consideration, and the fact there was nowhere else.
Firstly, we need to say that the front desk staff are lovely, and the problems we experienced are not associated with any lack of customer service. However...
The Quest is situated in Henderson, those of you that know Auckland will know that it's a very 'down to earth' area, being on the corner of a busy main road, with the large police station right behind it, the large retirement village opposite, and the noisy storage king facility on the other side of the road. Therefore there is a lot of noise happening at most times.
The Henderson mall about a 10 minute walk down the road, and a supermarket. The area is far from pretty, and more industrial.
There isn't real public transport to speak of, only occasional buses from Henderson, so international travellers will find that unlike Australia and the rest of the world, Auckland doesn't have a reliable bus, tram, or train service to speak of.
The apartment we stayed in was with single beds. It was tidy, but not really what you could call very clean as far as dusting and surfaces.
They are serviced apartments, but in our 5 day stay, the beds were only pulled up and made, and the sheets not changed. soaps are left, as well as soap powder which is about the level of the servicing. The areas for improvement and what could be better are :
No free internet, as with most motels, apartments around the world. Only 20 min per 24 hours free, then about $10 a day.
No free parking, must be paid for, we didn't have a car, but there is absolutely no secure or even street parking in the area.
The apartment has a major dampness and condensation problem. Due to the design, the windows are constantly wet, all day, all night. In the mornings there are pools of water sitting along the window sills, running into the walls and carpets, all over the back of the blinds.
The problem is extreme and our clothes were noticeably damp from the wardrobe, and any clothes sitting In open suitcases. It's unhealthy and after 4 days of being there, despite leaving the two small windows open all day, it never dried out. A possible problem for asthma sufferers. There was a musty damp smell.
Our first toaster when pushing the button, instant killed all power to the apartment, tripping the overload board (only appliance running? ) the second replacement despite running for 10 seconds with no smoke, set off the fire alarm.
This sounded a loud evacuation message, 'evacuate now' as if the entire complex was in fire. So we ran down 6 flights if concrete stairs, only to be told, that the sensors do that, and if it happens again, to press the button inside the apartment, and ignore it. Ignore it? In case if a real fire? A bit concerning and an issue they are obviously well aware of.
We were given a roll out bed as its called for 1 night for our daughter. This was a small slat camping style bed for $30. This broke early hours of the morning, the slats disconnecting in the centre of the bed, and our daughter ending up on the hard 2 seated couch.
We were not charged for this, after advising them, but again it seems there are some unattended maintenance issues needing attention.
Overall, the quest is ok for a single night, but it gives the impression of apartments that are ran on a very tight budget, we would call it a 3 star at best. The staff are lovely, but the facilities and the maintenance issues, the area, leaves a bit to be desired.

on booking in we were told no parking available so had to risk parking on road and getting ticket. Wifi is charged $40 up to 5 gb. if you lose your card that's $60. if your card doesn't work and you end up calling the front desk person out that's $50.good firm bed though, and washer/dryer was good.
Perfect for what we needed

We chose Quest Henderson to stay for 2 nights whilst visiting family. Super convenient being only 2 min drive from Mum's house, and walking distance from the main shopping area of Henderson. We had a standard room, which was like a little studio apartment, fully equipped with a kitchenette, washing machine and dryer etc. We could easily have stayed longer.
We booked parking ahead - I think it was $10 per day, but definitely worth doing as we'd rented a car (you really need a car in that area).
The staff were super friendly and professional.
The shower pressure wasn't great, but did the job.
We will definitely stay again when next visiting the family, it's nice to have our own private space.

Went there for a night with my partner, it was clean and tidy and well appointed. The concierge was polite albeit a bit slow in coming to serve me. The room was quiet and dark just as I like them. It was well located, within walking distance of the local pool and central Henderson.
