Terrible Place

This was one of the worst experiences i´ve ever had. Their photos don´t really match the reality. I´ve attached some photos so that you can see for yourself. I was offered a room inside an house with 20 more rooms for 120 Euros!!! They called it an apartment studio but all you´re getting is a tiny room without any privacy or comfort. I complained right there at the place but they just did nothing. Without any other place to go i had to spend the night there. The bathroom was really smelly and dirty ( pipes from other rooms and hairs on the bathtub ) . For 120 Euros / a night i´m sure you can find a better place to stay.
September holiday

Well what can I say? This hotel is just beautiful. Very rustic and traditional and a bit off the beaten track with beautiful clifftop views over the Atlantic ocean. The hotel is set over a big complex with the reception/bar in the middle. Breakfast is plentiful with hot and cold food and you won't be disappointed with the home made pastries, they're lush. We never had a problem getting a table at any time, the young guy on the door always remembered our names and room number. All the guests were very friendly, we were the only English guests there I think at the beginning of the week but by the middle of the holiday people were happy to chat and get to know us and introduce themselves. That said, some days it as so quiet that you never saw any one around and we had the whole complex to ourselves. It was just bliss being able to lay outside our apt on our own sunbeds with our music on reading with a cheeky glass of the cheapest, loveliest Portuguese wine soaking up the red hot sun. The hotel is about 10minutes walk from Burgau which is the prettiest little village and reminded us of Cornwall with its white washed walls and little fishing boats. There is a pub on the way called The Pigs Head which is owned by an English guy who is so friendly in fact he's from Sheffield where we are from and actually knew the same people we did!! And 6euros for a pint of Estrella and a very large g n t!! The walk to Praia da Luz is a bit longer but there is a bus service that takes you right by the church and is only 1.6 euros. It's worth going to Praia in the evening as it's not too busy but there are some lovely restaurants and bars. Get the bus to Lagos it's well worth it and the beaches there are stunning. The at this hotel are what makes it special. They're are so friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you. Well done them for keeping everything beautiful and everyone happy. We will definitely go back again. This is a little piece of relaxing paradise, perfect for recharging your batteries and forgetting about work.
All good except Wi-Fi!

The room are perfectly clean, very quiet place great for relaxing, the pool is lovely, good parking space, variety buffet breakfast, friendly stuff just absolutely need improved is wifi, There is wifi but just in the reception area, we stay far from reception. Would be nice put wifi every group of area since very big place, so can every one can reaching the connection, instead just in the reception place, even when we had breakfast place can't get the wifi. Our phone connection are so bad too. That's the fact need good wifi connection.
Hikers review

For us the choice of this place was purley strategical due to it´s good location.
We wanted to do some coastal hikes in the area and therefore this hotel was perfectly situated.
Also for the evenings we could go either to Lagos or to Burgau by car to relax after our hikes.
Now the hotel itself was fine although at the time we were there, the main cutomers of the hotel were group travellers, old couples, and families.
We were sticking out a bit as a young couple in hikers clothes.
Nevertheless we had an excellent stay,
We received a room in one off the houses at the border of the estate which was suiting us perfectly, as we just wanted quietness and relaxation.
The room was big enough, and well accomodated.
The bathroom was excellent, being clean and spatious.
And we had a nice balcony, which was a perfect reading spot.
The only thing I didn´t like was the smell of bleach at the entrance of the room.
Luckily it was only at the entrance and not in the complete room.
The breakfast was excellent with a great amount of choices between local and continental products.
A car is a must if you want to stay here.
Overal a really recommandable place to stay
All ended well

After a week spent in the most amazing villa we arrived in the evening at Quinto do Mar La Luz with a warm welcome. We were kindly escorted to our room, a 1 bed apt, and were disappointed, we expected rustic, but we did not expect small and out of date, perhaps we had been spoiled by the villa back in Guia?? On complaining we were the following morning offered a new room, which after some initial confusion, as it seemed to have been offered to someone else, eventually settled. Better room, better outdoor space we were happy!! Breakfast is as many have mentioned amazing, with a very wide selection of both hot and cold food. A little frustrating at times as one day we waited too long for a table for 3 when there were 5 tables for 4 available and no queue. The grounds are lovely, well kept and nurtured, pool areas are spotless and rooms are cleaned with fresh towels daily ( except Sunday- but not an issue) there are loads of nationalities which was spot on as we do not like the English only environment! I would say the thing that makes this place above it's quaintness is without doubt the staff. Polite, courteous an caring at all times. Would we return, yes definitely!
