After an extremely long drive from Dieppe, we were so pleasantly surprised at the location, cleanliness, size and appearance of the apartment, an absolute bargain for the money we paid. We emailed on route due to a delay but this was no problem and easily sorted. As this was late October, the apartments were quiet which was perfect for a hiking/relaxing break. The bathroom and shower had continuous hot water and really clean. The surroundings were great, the mountain views quite breathtaking and so convenient for all mountain and valley hikes. Great place, well recommended and we will return asap.

We stayed here in september 2011 and hopefully will go back september this year, we loved the scenery and the tranquility,The manager ( Stephano ) i think his name was, spoke excellent english,he was really helpful and he made our stay better, because it was quiet we were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment instead of a studio, you do need to take towels and bedding,If you want bars and restaurants stay in lourdes, Which by the way is only 5 minutes away by car or about a 20 minute walk through country roads.

This aparthotel is super for its location. A few kms from Lourdes, it has great mountain views.
However, it's quite large, so it's quite busy. We stayed 2 nights and on both nights, there were bus loads of people who stopped over for the night. This strained the kitchen staff I guess, because we didn't get our dinner until 2 hours after ordering! Now, that was ridiculous! We were starving but we didn't want to go anywhere else as it would meant a drive and our dad was not mobile. Our young son was of course fidgety by about 9.30 when no dinner made any appearance!! We ate all the bread and by 10, our food arrived in dribs and drabs. First, my dad had his omelette, then, my son had his lamb (which was just fat and bones!), and my mum had her meatloaf, and then my husband's had the same lamb, and when everyone nearly finished, came my meal of the day, which was the same as my mum's! Food, and the service were terrible! We struggled with our Frence but the waitress was patient with us.
The rooms and Les Gentianes, the apartment itself, smelt of some sort of insect or chemical spray. Terrible! The rooms were adequate, spacious and airy. Our bathroom had no windows or ventilation. Everything is a bit dated. Probably 1980s. Flies, spiders and insects of all types came with the territory. If you have phobia of these creatures, avoid this aparthotel. Cobwebs and dust came with the rooms as well. We were travelling through France to Spain, and the 2 nights spent here were definitely the worse. However, I wouldn't knock it as it wasn't as bad as the City Mar hotel in La Linea which stank of sewage!!
The swimming pool of this hotel needs maintainance. This hotel actually is more suited to backpackers and those who don't mind a bit or rough and ready environment.
Stay at this place for its location, not for its rooms or restaurant. Breakfast was not safe, as flies were hovering and landing everywhere on the croissants, ham, etc.
The staff were friendly enough, and speak good English.
Super Location

After staying at a sister hotel in Lourdes, we spotted the brochure for this one in their lobby and decided to book a night on our way back home. This hotel will definitely become a favourite for us. Tucked away in a tiny village yet only 4km from the hustle and bustle of Lourdes, it's set in peaceful gardens which include a kidddies playground and lovely heated, covered swimming pool. You can choose from bedrooms, studios and one or two bedroomed appartments which sleep up to six people. We paid 48 euros for a two room appartment which was spacious, warm and spotless. Double bedroom with large bathroom and a very comfy fold out sofa bed for the kids in the living room. Nicely decorated, lots of windows and efficient heating. There's a restaurant and bar if you don't feel like cooking. The kitchen is equipped with a hotplate, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher plus all the basics for cooking and eating. Towels are provided but cleaning products are not - you can purchase dishwasher tablets etc from reception. There is a laundry room on site also. Appartments with balconies are available - we were told to specify this when we made our reservation. With such breathtaking scenery, forest walks and tranquility we'd definitely recommend this hotel.
