Great place to stay for skiing trip
Heather Gon 17/04/2017 22:46This location was perfect for access to the ski bus, ski hire shop new loc and town centre but also really quiet at night time. The facilities were very good with two jacazzis, a good sized pool, gym, sauna and steam room. There was also the option to have a spa treatment. There is a pool table and games and books to borrow from reception area. There is also a laundry room and ski lockers (not terribly big but ok for skis and some of our boots). The staff were friendly and polite and spoke excellent English. The apartment was clean and very well appointed. Our rooms were spacious and the living area a good size for 7 people too. Would recommend and would stay there again.

PaulineFerrolon 27/02/2017 13:50Great trip but expensive, although we did know this would be the case due to high season and half term. We also stayed here last Easter at a very competitive price so you can get it cheaper if you ar willing to go out of high season. It is an excellent property though !
Family ski holiday
MoortoSeaHolidayson 21/01/2017 18:06We've just returned from Les Carroz, Les fermes du soleil after a week's stay. We were so lucky arriving into fresh snow, followed by plenty of sunshine, creating perfect skiing conditions and beautiful scenery. Les Carroz village is lovely and very authentic - loved the Monday night welcome in the village square - live music and free mulled wine if you bring your own mug! The Grand Massif ski area is great - we were on the look-out for green runs with our 3 boys (aged 4,6 &8) and found plenty of them - the best collective of them was found in nearby Flaine. Husband loved the red & blue runs in the Grand Massif too, and enjoyed skiing from village to village. Some great mountain bars to be found!
The apartment we stayed in was in Chalet A on the 3rd floor - 2 bedrooms. Was very cute, with magnificent views from all windows. Balcony overlooked the ice-rink. Bedrooms and bathrooms well equipped and nicely decorated; and plenty of space for 5 of us. Communal kitchen/living/dining area quite small, but not a problem for us as we were out and about in the day times. Kitchen fairly well equipped with basic cleaning goods provided, we appreciated this, along with bed linen and towels &2 dressing gowns provided - makes life easy with kids in tow! All very clean on arrival (apart from a couple of bits in the kitchen such as the hob - it does say you have to leave the kitchen area clean, so maybe the staff don't clean it at all? I think we left the kitchen cleaner than we found it!..) & dishwasher only functioned on 1 setting, but nothing that warranted complaining about or would ruin a holiday! Apartment nice and warm and cosy. Reception were very pleasant and friendly - good games cupboard to borrow things from, and a little kid's corner too. Pool was a nice bonus, albeit a bit fresh upon entering - a few lengths sorts you out though, and there are 2 hot tubs next to it, too. Good to have under ground car parking as otherwise we'd have been waiting hours for the car to defrost each day! Shame you have to pay extra for it though (70 euros per week seems a bit excessive...) Good underground ski lockers. Literally 2 mins walk to the village centre, and 5 mins to the sledging area. Free ski shuttle bus regularly stops outside reception, takes you to the gondola which you need to get on if you are going up to Les Carroz ski area. Great pain au chocolats to be found in the boulangerie next to Casino supermarket. Casino fairly well stocked too, although we did our 'big shop ' in a Super U en route to keep costs down.
We visited Aquacime once in the evening - was very nice, but a bit pricey with kids (who cost almost as much as adults), without kids I imagine it would be a nice, relaxing way to round off a day's skiing. Very clean facilities.
Overall, we loved our week there & are already planning when we can return to the area - really recommend it.
Great for a late summer holiday with something for everyone
Julie Con 04/09/2016 22:14We were a small family of two adults, 15 year old boy and small dog. We went for a larger apartment and somehow ended up with a 3 bed top floor apt in Block C, large balcony and great views and plenty of space for us. Clean and nicely furnished. Hob and microwave/grill oven but no cooker. Staff were very helpful especially helping us with a vet appt to get our dog a worming treatment before return to UK. We were there for last week of UK school holidays - however this was after the French school holidays (which finished one week before) and this meant everything was closing. The telecabin closed on the Sunday so only had one day to use it and several restaurants closed during the week and bike hire shop. This did mean though that everything was beautifully quiet - we did a walk up the mountain one day and never saw another soul! Weather was still beautifully warm and found plenty to do - cycling, walking, canyoning (quite an experience!). Found a lovely swimming lake not far - Lac des ilettes (Beautiful view of Mont Blanc glacier from the lake). Pool and spa great and again very quiet. Also tried the outdoor pool in the village - very nice ( but got caught out with the silly 'speedo' only rules!).
