First off I'll talk about the hotel.. it was decent. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked great. The pool view was beautiful and it was a good location on the beach. I must say the vibe we got from the whole town was alittle off, but that's just our opinion. We were traveling with two other couples.
So the worst experience I've ever had was at the spa. I went to get a foot massage at the spa by the pool. The massage therapist brought me into a massage room and it had 2 massage tables right next to each other.. so I put my purse on the table and got on the other table. I didn't think much of it until she covered my face with a towel(thought this was weird). So 20 minutes into the massage I had a strange feeling so i took the towel off my face to find another woman had crept inti the room with us and had her hand on my purse about to rob me. The massage therapist begin to tell me that the woman was in there because she was going to school for massage and was "learning". But then she left the room shortly after so if she was really in training she would have stayed. I felt extremely violated and would never ever recommend this hotel because of this. Keep all of your belongings close and dont take your eyes off them!!!!

Firstly, Railay Bay is beautiful and if you stay here you're going to see some of the best sunsets in the world. And the hotel location is perfect for this.
In terms of a hotel pick up, its a great system they have and both myself and my partner arrived promptly and without dramas as some of the reviews suggest.
The restaurant has a beautiful view of Railay west so I was keen to enjoy a late lunch and the setting was perfect. The service however is not perfect and paying for your drink separately to your food and having to pay each time you order is ridiculous in a 4 star hotel the size of Railay.
We had a jacuzzi room and it was ok. The toilet room was a bit smelly when I arrived but opening the door and airing it for a while cleared the stench. The jacuzzi once ran was ok and a nice cool off after a busy day.
The check out again was difficult and the staff again seem not to trust you. I can only think they've had issues in the past but take a deposit from credit cards as other hotels do and relax a little.
All in all Railay is paradise. This resort is ok and good be amazing with a little investment and more trust in the customer.

The views from this hotel were absolutely magnificent. The beach was beautiful and the ocean was clean and gorgeous. You can see the beach and the limestone cliffs right from the pool and the restaurant. These views made the hotel!
Rooms: the rooms are outdated. It took a day or two to get used to the room.
- No shower curtain, so water got all over the bathroom floor.
- Cracks in the balcony doors, which could have allowed more mosquitoes to enter the room.
- The magnetic key needs to be in to the key slot for the AC and electricity to be turned on (once you leave the room with the key it all goes off). This was annoying if one person wanted to leave the room with the key, or when you come back to the room after a long day). They only provided us with one key.
- No shelves to unpack. We were at the resort for about 11 nights, so it would have been nice to be able to unpack and not live out of our suitcases. But the room wasn't really furnished for this.
- The mattress on one side had hard elevated spot in it. So we just made sure to sleep on the other side of it.
Service: the service was a hit or miss. the staff were sometimes friendly, sometimes not.
- the service at the restaurant was at times very slow. One time we were waiting for about 40 minutes, and then when we finally checked on our order they told us it was never put in (our waiter just disappeared).
- at breakfast sometimes they would fill out coffee, sometimes not, so we just started doing it ourselves.
- some of the receptionists were friendly, some seemed very rude and did not care.
** we were very impressed with the service on the last day. it was pouring rain, and they bagged our luggage for us to keep it dry and gave us ponchos.
Food: The food was good. The included breakfast was not our standard North American breakfast but the food they served was yummy. They had mashed potatoes, and fried noodles, and soup, and spaghetti and roasted potatoes (it seemed like they rotated the food every day of the week). There was then also fruit and toast and croissants and an omelette option. No pork (no bacon), the ham was chicken ham. The food off the menu was also good. Average cost like 220 baht.
* We recommend going walking to the Railay Walking Strip (1 minute, walk along the beach) and there is a strip with different amazing food options for half the price (around 140 baht or less)
Pools - Pools were always clean and well maintained. Not a lot of chair around the pools. The pool that was more inside the resort, we never had a problem getting a chair. The pool that looked out onto the beach, sometimes there were no chairs available.
** Jin, a waiter at the restaurant was always amazing! Very friendly, extremely attentive and very helpful. We always made sure to be served by him if he was there! **

Stayed here for four nights. The service was exceptional. The location is perfect ' right on the beach front . The staff were very accommodating and attended to all our requests very promptly and efficiently.

Railay bay beach resort exceeded all of my expectations. It is situated right on west best with a fabulous view from the pool. The resort was super clean and the staff were so friendly. We were so impressed by how clean, large, and beautiful our room was. Breakfast was AMAZING. All kinds of international food; fresh eggs, Thai food, toast, pastries, you name it. Definitely would recommend this place and happily come back.
